’90 Day Fiancé’: Did Evelin Villegas and Corey Rathgeber Just Break Up?
90 Day Fiancé stars Corey Rathgeber and Evelin Villegas just can’t seem to keep themselves out of the drama spotlight. The two have had plenty of ups and downs during their relationship, with allegations of cheating and threats to separate cropping up now and then. And to make matters worse, the two recently feuded with fellow 90 Day Fiancé star Laura Jallali in Ecuador. Now, just as things seemed to be settling down, it looks as if Evelin Villegas and Corey Rathgeber may be calling it quits as a couple.
Evelin Villegas, Corey Rathgeber, and Laura Jallali feud
Evelin Villegas and Corey Rathgeber entered into an intense feud with fellow 90 Day Fiancé star Laura Jallai after she moved to Ecuador. Following her split from Aladin Jallali, Laura Jallali moved to Ecuador with the assistance of Evelin Villegas, who could help her translate.
However, it seems as if things soured between Jallali and her two new friends rather quickly. According to Villegas, Laura Jallali soon became nasty, and started spreading rumors about infidelity in Villegas’ relationship with Corey Rathgeber.
90 Day Fiancé blogger John Yates had a chat with Evelin Villegas in which Villegas dished on her feud with Laura Jallali. Villegas explained to Yates, “We both see that she and this other friend were trying to break us up, and we were like, you know what, we’re both stepping away from them both.”
Thing got so bad between the two and Laura Jallali that Corey Rathgeber had to take to Instagram to tell Jallali to back off, or else he’d be taking legal action. Rathgeber said, “This is for Laura. I have no way of getting in contact with her because she’s blocked me, so I gotta do it this way I guess, sorry guys. Anyways, if you say anything about me again, anything at all, publicly, I am pressing charges against you.”
Corey Rathgeber and Evelin Villegas marriage revealed
Around the same time that Corey Rathgeber and Evelin Villegas were feuding with Laura Jallali, Corey Rathgeber had a run-in with the law that Jallali helped to expose. This was part of why Corey Rathgeber threatened legal action against Jallali.
In November of 2019, Corey Rathgeber was arrested in Skamania, Washington, for a DUI. According to the police reports, Rathgeber had been drinking at a nearby brewery before getting behind the wheel.
The report details that Rathgeber claimed to have imbibed only two beers before driving home, and that he’d had them several hours ago. A breathalyzer test, however, showed a blood-alcohol level of .133, passing the Washington limit of .08.
Fans also discovered that Rathgeber and Villegas are married. Soap Dirt reported that Evelin Villegas lega status states that she’s married to Corey Rathgeber. For some fans, this came as a surprise, as Rathgeber and Villegas had been saying they were simply engaged.
Are the ‘90 Day Fiancé’ stars splitting up?
Now, it seems as though all of the stress may have caught up to Evelin Villegas and Corey Rathgeber.
Evelin Villegas took to her Instagram stories to inform fans that she and Corey Rathgeber have called it quits. The 90 Day Fiancé star wrote, “Just a quick updated now that the ‘[What Now]’ is up, Corey and I broke up. We are stuck in quarantine together but that’s just it. We are friends and always will. Have a good day [sic].”
Not all 90 Day Fiancé fans are buying it, however. One Reddit user commented, “Don’t worry they’ll be back together next week and Raul will be quarantined along with them.”
“Give them 5 minutes,” joked another user.
