Andrei and Elizabeth Castravet are 90 Day Fiance veterans. They’ve been on the show since their relationship first began, and now they have a few 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? seasons under their belts. Through it all, Andrei and Elizabeth, or Libby, have been at odds with her family.

Libby has a lot of brothers and sisters, and a very involved father. None of them were on board with her relationship when Andrei arrived from Moldova. In the most recent season of the show, Andrei got to turn the tables on his in-laws. He and Elizabeth hosted a wedding in his native Moldova, Libby’s family was invited to attend.

Fans were disgusted by Elizabeth Castravet’s family

As fans could have predicted, things did not go well in Moldova. This family loves drama, and they brought their bad attitudes with them from Tampa. Andrei’s family served traditional Moldovan food when the Potthast family arrived, but they wouldn’t eat any of it. Many fans on Reddit think the polite thing would have been to grin and bear it. Eat the food even if you don’t like it. Other fans think that there’s a way to politely decline to eat food you’re not into.

The Potthast family did neither of those things. Instead of being gracious and eating the food, or politely declining, they bashed their hosts. They called the food “peasant food.” Although Andrei’s family couldn’t understand what they were saying, the footage was aired on TV. The family was being filmed, and must have known that the hosts would know what they said. Now, after facing heavy backlash, Elizabeth’s sister Jenn is trying to walk back her actions.

Jenn blamed the long flight for her behavior

In a now-deleted Instagram video, Jenn tried to defend herself to fans. The video was posted on Reddit, and fans don’t think it made things better. Jenn has a lot of attitude, despite the fact that the video is supposed to be an apology. Jenn claims that she was exhausted from the flight and overwhelmed by the camera crews. When she was presented with food she wasn’t familiar with, she declined. Not because she was trying to be rude, but because she was too exhausted to try unfamiliar food.

Jenn didn’t call the food unfamiliar in her video. She said she craved “normal” food, implying that the food she was served by Andrei’s family wasn’t normal. Although it may not be popular in the US, the food that Jenn’s hosts served her is popular across Eastern Europe. If she were really sorry, she would have probably chosen her words more carefully. As it stands, fans aren’t buying her weak apology.

Fans saw right through Jenn’s sad attempt at an apology. As one fan on Reddit pointed out, it seemed like Jenn was trying to prove how little she cares what people think about her. “She’s pretending it’s not bothering her how people are seeing her but it totally is hahahha. That’s the best part for me. Everyone now knows you’re a sloppy b****, Jenn.”

Some fans think that Jenn and the rest of the Potthast family are trying to be this rude on purpose. Extra dramatic couples have gotten spin-offs in the past, and some fans speculate that the Potthasts want to be the next family with their own show.

However, their strategy may backfire. If fans are so mad that they just don’t want to watch Jenn at all, no one will produce their own show. To get a spinoff, the Potthasts need to be likeable enough to keep fans coming back. The line between drama-filled and likable is thin, and Libby’s family may not have the poise to be able to walk it.
