‘90 Day Fiancé’: Evelin Denies Claims She’s With Corey for Money — Says She Paid for the Cocktail Bar
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Evelin Villegas sets the record straight about who bought the cocktail bar. With rumors claiming that Evelin is only with Corey Rathgeber for his money, she’s revealing her side of the story.
Evelin and Corey’s relationship on the rocks
In 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 3, Evelin kicks Corey out of the house they share after he comes clean about the extent of his relationship with Jenny. Before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Evelin wanted a break, so Corey went to Peru. That’s where he had an entire relationship with Jenny. He returned, thinking his relationship with Evelin was over to retrieve his belongings.
However, because of the lockdown, Corey was forced to stay there. That’s when he and Evelin began working on their marriage. While attempting to fix his marriage with Evelin, Corey hid some important details from Evelin. He told her that he and Jenny’s relationship wasn’t sexual and that it only lasted a maximum of four days. The reality was that he was having a real relationship with Jenny and even planning on moving in with her. Now it’s unclear where Corey and Evelin’s relationship stands.
Evelin denies claims that she’s with Corey for money
Some 90 Day Fiancé fans are convinced that Evelin doesn’t even love Corey and that she’s only with him for his money. In the first episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 1, Corey claims to have spent his entire savings on Evelin. After Evelin was planning an extravagant, $50,000 wedding on Corey’s dime was further proof that she was using him for money.
Evelin set the record straight about money during a Q&A on Instagram Story (via Reddit) with fans. A fan asked Evelin, “Didn’t Corey pay for most of the bar to even be built?” She said, “A lot of people is [sic] confused about that. Corey did give me $200 at the beginning for the very small bar that we had. That doesn’t exist anymore, and I have put thousands and thousands of dollars into this new bar. And it’s completely and truly mine.
Evelin claims she was the one who paid for the cocktail bar, not Corey
She captioned the Instagram Story with more information about the origins of the cocktail bar. She wrote, “I appreciate his $200 help back in the day, but that was it.”
Evelin explained, “I had the cocktail business before I even met him, so he helped me once, and that was it. We also were living with the money we were making from it.” She concluded, “Now I started a new one in a different location, and it’s fully mine.”
