90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Evelin Villegas finally tells her family that she and Corey Rathgeber already got married. Evelin claims to have gotten married in secret, without any of their family or friends. In a preview clip for the upcoming episode, Evelin tells her family that she and Corey are already married. However, some fans are doubting the credibility of Evelin’s family’s reactions.
Evelin and Corey are secretly married
On the Sept. 12th episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Evelin talks to her sisters, Lipsy and Lesly, about Corey’s alleged infidelity. The sisters were not happy to hear that Corey cheated on Evelin with a woman in Peru. To complicate the situation, even more, Evelin revealed that she and Corey have been married for nearly a year. Evelin said, “The truth of the matter is, one year ago, Corey and I went to Guayaquil and got married.” Evelin’s sisters were shocked by the news.
On the Sept. 19th episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Evelin’s sisters asked her and Corey to meet with them to talk about the secret marriage and the cheating. The sisters begin the meal by ordering a traditional Ecuadorian dish called “tronquito” soup for Corey. According to the sisters, the soup “makes you a man” because it’s made of a bull’s penis. They tricked Corey into eating the soup to get back at him for cheating on Evelin.
How much did Evelin’s family know about the marriage to Corey?
In the preview clip (via ET) for the upcoming Sept. 26th episode, Evelin and Corey go to her parents’ house and meet with her family to drop the marriage bombshell. Evelin gathered everyone in the kitchen to tell them the truth. Evelin asked her family if they remembered when Corey’s visa was expiring. She said they ran out of options, so she and Corey ran off and got married. They got married in June of 2019, which means they were approaching their first wedding anniversary by the time they were filming.
Evelin said that she didn’t tell anyone, including either of their families and friends. Her mom asked, “You just it like that, without anything?” Evelin replied, “Without anything. No witnesses, no nothing.” The 90 Day Fiancé star said she paid a random person off the street $20 to act as their witness. Evelin said, “Corey talked to me and convinced me.” She explained, “And I told him we would do it just for his papers, and we would go out there alone by ourselves.
’90 Day Fiancé’ fans think Evelin’s family is ‘acting’
Many 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans believe that Evelin’s family is only acting like they’re just finding out about Corey and Evelin’s marriage. One fan commented on Reddit that they think that Evelin’s sisters were merely acting surprised. They wrote, “That acting was absolute dog sh—.” Another fan wrote, “Their whole storyline is fake. I wonder what’s really going on.”
More and more fans have come forward on Reddit to talk about how Corey and Evelin’s storyline feels manufactured for drama.
