’90 Day Fiancé’ Fans Are in Tears Over Armando’s Emotional Conversation With His Family
If you’re into drama, lying, and catfishing, then 90 Day Fiancé is for you. The show is known for its insane storylines and jaw-dropping situations. But every now and then, between all of the craziness, viewers will get to see a genuinely tender scene. On the June 23 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Armando Rubio gave audiences one of the most touching moments of the season when he came out to his family. The moment was so beautiful that fans still haven’t been able to get over it.
What did Armando say?
Rubio has known that he needed to speak to his parents about his sexuality for a while. He tried to come out years before the show, but his parents would not listen. When Kenneth Niedermeier was planning to move to Mexico to be with him, Rubio knew he was running out of time to talk to his parents.
“I haven’t talked to my family in three years about me being gay, because I’ve heard comments about them still not accepting it, still not wanting to see it,” he said on the episode. “I’m very scared. I don’t know what to expect. I just do not want them to keep denying it.”
And then, the moment finally came for Rubio to be honest.
“As you know, we’ve talked about it once before,” he said to his parents. “I’ve spent my whole life hiding who I am. I know that maybe having been married may have confused you, but I did it for you so that people wouldn’t talk about you. There were nights where I cried alone because of hiding who I was.”
How did Armando’s parents react?
Rubio was so nervous to tell his family that it seemed like the conversation had a high probability of going badly. So, when Rubio’s mom started crying, it was unclear what exactly was behind the tears. Eventually, she got up and hugged her son and told him that she would always love him.
“It’s a beautiful feeling to hear [from my mom] that she loves me, that I’m her boy. That’s what I needed in my life,” Rubio said in a confessional.
Even Rubio’s father, Armando Sr., got emotional.
“As parents, the pride we have as Mexicans, is what hasn’t let us see beyond reality that he’s gay,” he told the cameras.
