’90 Day Fiancé’: Fans React to Kalani and Asuelu’s Families Getting Together for a Talk
On 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa are trying to work on things together. After an eventful trip to visit Asuelu’s family in Washington, the little family is finally back home in Utah. Fresh from therapy, the couple gets together with both families for a meal, and it goes surprisingly well and uneventful for the most part. Fans were definitely hoping for more from this meetup.
There’s a lot of drama between Kalani, Asuelu, and Asuelu’s family
When they meet up with Asuelu’s family in Washington, his family asks for $1,000, but Asuelu says he only has $100 to give. He’s only working part-time, and Kalani stays at home with her two young children. It leads to some drama when Kalani gets together with Asuelu’s mother, Lesina, and his sister, Tammy. They discuss money, and things get out of hand. Kalani ends up walking away, but Tammy lunges in her direction. Luckily, her mother holds her back, but the damage seems to be done.
The stress with Asuelu’s family causes friction for an already troubled marriage between Kalani and Asuelu. At one point, Kalani even admits to the cameras that she doesn’t want to be married anymore. They decide to go to therapy, and it seems helpful. But there are still lingering feelings after everything that’s happened, and Asuelu invites his family to Washington for a visit.
Kalani and Asuelu get their families together
At the meeting at a restaurant in Utah, Kalani and her parents wait for Asuelu and his family’s impending arrival. When they do finally all show up, they greet each other and sit down together. Kalani tells everyone that she “wants answers” and she was “disrespected.” Tammy replies by saying she wasn’t disrespected.
“You told us what is in your mind,” Lesina tells her. “You hated what I need from my son, and you’re not obeying what I want.”
The money issue is brought up, and Kalani says they don’t have the money to give them. “You can’t send all your money back to Samoa and let your family starve,” Low, Kalani’s father, tells them.
But things don’t end there. Lesina has more to say to her son. “What happened to you?” Lesina asks. “Now you’re here in America. So you better give more money for me.”
Kalani’s own mother, Lisa, questions if Kalani and Asuelu are supposed to fight so Asuelu’s family will be happy, and Tammy gets involved by asking why she’s asking her mother that. “Tammy, why are you butting in?” Lisa boldly replies. “They can’t give you what they don’t have.”
Eventually, Kalani gets an apology from Lesina, but not from Tammy, who says she won’t be apologizing because she didn’t do anything wrong. Even Kalani apologizes back to Lesina, and things go surprisingly well and uneventful for the most part.
