90 Day Fiancé couple Jenny Slatten and Sumit are getting into uncomfortable territory lately. Sumit still owes his father money as a result of his divorce from his last wife, and his parents are by no means fond of his decision to stay with Jenny Slatten. A recent episode featured Sumit’s parents tearing into Slatten as she listened on, unable to understand. Suffice it to say, fans of the show got an incredible kick out of some of the things they had to say.
Jenny Slatten has called Sumit’s parents liars
Jenny Slatten and Sumit’s parents do not have a very positive relationship. Sumit’s parents are not happy that he’s trying to marry Slatten, largely because it involved him reneging on his previous marriage, and also due to Slatten’s age.
Slatten, meanwhile, has essentially called Sumit’s parents liars. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Slatten clarified her relationship with Sumit’s parents, and made some startling claims about their behavior on the show.
“Okay well, first of all, they were not completely honest about what they said,” claimed Slatten.
“What everybody saw was them acting like they didn’t know we were in a relationship until I came to their house and they thought we were ‘just friends.’ Not true, but you’ll find out more about that as the season goes along.”
Slatten went on to say that Sumit’s parents have known about their relationship since at least 2013.
“Of course they knew we were in a relationship, we’ve been together since 2011 and that was 2013. So they knew. That’s all I can say. And uh, they have their reasons for not wanting to admit that they knew we were in a relationship. They have their reasons and I can’t say what their reasons are but I know what they are,” she added.

Jenny Slatten clearly has her own opinion of Sumit’s parents, and it’s apparent that she doesn’t hold them in the highest esteem. Sumit’s parents, meanwhile, seem to have much the same lack of regard for Slatten.
The 90 Day Fiancé star faced a severe roasting right to her face. Luckily, Slatten wasn’t able to understand the conversation.
“You turned your hair gray for her, she took you away from us. This is her fault, you’re becoming old because she’s old,” said Sumit’s mother.
Sumit’s father went on to suggest that Sumit find another old woman to marry instead of Jenny Slatten. He even suggested he find “a hundred year old” and it would be a better match.
One Redditor who speaks Hindi fluently translated the entirety of the conversation with more context. At one point, Sumit’s father asks, “This is all you could find? American? If you look, you’ll find way more, thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions, better than her. This is the only one you could find in your lifetime? Keep looking!”

90 Day Fiancé fans were a mix of shocked, amused, and exasperated with the entire situation — three feelings that seem to sum up Sumit and Jenny Slatten’s storyline.
“The entire situation is so messy from all ends. If his parents condemned Jenny for her ‘let me stay with you guys as a friend for 3 months’ sneaky behavior it would hold a lot more credibility than attacking her for age,” opined one Redditor.
“If some old a** lady came in my home, under the guise of being a traveler wanting to learn about my culture, befriended me, let me confide in her, then she turns around and bumps uglies with my son who less than half her age, I’d punch her in her goddamned face and never, ever speak to her again,” wrote another user.
“Summit’s parents are SAVAGE. I used to feel bad for Jenny, but after learning how she abused his parents’ hospitality and trust when they first met, she can kick rocks,” one user pointed out.
