‘90 Day Fiancé’ Fans Think Steven and Alina’s Hitchhiking Scene Proves That the Show Is Fake
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans think that the hitchhiking scene with Steven and Alina was in Turkey was scripted. While many fans have been claiming that the show has some fake scenes, they believe that this particular scene offers proof.
Steven forces Alina to hitchhike instead of calling a taxi in Turkey
During the Sept. 26th episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, the young couple head to a legal consultation. After walking part of the way, Steven tells Alina, “I was thinking we could just hitchhike there.” Alina, obviously out of her comfort zone, was afraid to get into strangers’ cars. She said, “I think it’s a little bit dangerous.”
Steven then flags down a car to hitch a ride. He then jumps in front of a white vehicle to get them to stop. He gives the driver directions in Turkish to where they need to go and then proceed to sit in the back of the car. Steven said he’s hitchhiked in “five countries,” because it’s “a cheap mode of transportation.”
’90 Day Fiancé’ fans think that production faked the hitchhiking scene
There’s no doubt that the hitchhiking scene felt strange — whether it was all Steven’s or 90 Day Fiancé’s production idea. One fan posted on Reddit about the hitchhiking scene being next-level trickery by Sharp Entertainment.
They wrote, “I feel they really jumped the Sharp with this hitchhiking scene in a way that is way faker in principle than anything we’ve been exposed to before.”The 90 Day Fiancé fan continued, “It’s impossible to believe that SteVen actually pulled that car of the street randomly and hitchhiked.” They explained that the scene felt too organized and staged for it to be real.
They continued, “SteVen and Alina’s wireless mics remained in range the whole time. So the car the crew was following with not only had a camera mount but also audio equipment. It’s a shot that literally could not be executed without two hired cars and advanced planning of which car SteVen would get in.” The Reddit user concluded, “It actually feels a bit insulting to watch them so transparently fake a scene for a show we are supposed to believe is real.”
Does this prove that ’90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’ producers are scripting scenes?
Some 90 Day Fiancé fans believe that production told Steven to hitchhike. While other fans think that it was Steven’s idea, and the show just went along with it.
Another fan commented that they thought it was fake until they noticed one detail. They wrote, “I completely thought it was… until the man driving had his face blurred out. Unless it was someone on the crew, I don’t see why they’d do that.”
It is difficult to tell the difference between staged vs. organic scenes. Fans are aware that there will always be some level of production involvement in reality TV shows. However, fans notice there are more and more clues hinting at some of these storylines and scenes being faked.
