’90 Day Fiancé’ Fans Think ‘The Single Life’ is Getting Too Raunchy to Watch
The 90 Day Fiancé franchise continues to expand with spinoff after spinoff, and now that discovery+ has gotten in on the action, the series just keep on coming. Without the regular censors and restrictions of cable, discovery+ has been able to let loose with the content, but that’s not necessarily a good thing. 90 Day: The Single Life Season 2 premiered on Nov. 12, 2021, and some fans think it’s crossing the line.

The term “trash tv” was born out of the extreme talk shows in the late ’80s and early ’90s like The Jerry Springer Show, Ricki Lake, and Sally Jesse Raphael. Now that term is often used to describe reality television. Cable televisions have loosened their censorship rules a little. However, it’s still not nearly enough to handle what the 90 Day Fiancé spinoffs on discovery+ entail.
In the premiere episode of 90 Day: The Single Life, viewers get a glimpse of Jesse Meester’s naked body from behind as well as Ed Brown’s when he steps out of a shower. In addition, Ed shares a little too much information about his and Liz’s first night being sexual and even says he gave the waitress “multiple orgasms.” When Stephanie Matt is introduced, audiences are treated to the details of her fetish of masturbating to baking videos. Now, viewers think all of the detailed sex talk is too much.

Opinions about the 90 Day Fiancé franchise can be found far and wide on Reddit. One post, in particular, has others chiming in in agreement about the raunchy content.
One Redditor posted, “I know y’all are losing it over Big Ed in The Single Life 2 but could have died happy never seeing Jesse’s butt cheeks from multiple angles. Do they think this is the content we want? I’m not even a prude but that montage of ass in the Russian spa put me over the edge. I was continually in shock that they just kept showing it. Where is the run-of-the-mill trashy TV drama I love so much in this show??”
Another user wrote, “TLC is trying so hard to make these losers interesting… It’s not working!”
In a completely separate Reddit post, a member of the 90 Day Fiancé subreddit said, “I don’t know why these producers think we want to hear about these people having sex. WE WANT MESS.”
The ’90 Day Fiancé’ franchise doesn’t seem to be slowing down with the extreme content
If 90 Day Fiancé fans thought they could escape the over-the-top content with the other spinoffs on discovery+, they’re mistaken. In yet another series, Love in Paradise: The Caribbean, A 90 Day Story, viewers see the naked breasts of hotel patrons at a resort in Jamaica. A naked body isn’t all that shocking, especially for countries other than America. However, it’s the fact that not many fans are expecting it.
TLC must be happy with the ratings, or they most likely wouldn’t continue to churn out the content like they’re currently doing. 90 Day: The Single Life airs on discovery+ on Fridays for those interested in seeing for themselves.
