‘90 Day Fiancé’ Fans Want Production To Stop With the ‘Uncomfortable and Cringey’ Sex Scenes Between Couples
90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days fans are starting to feel uncomfortable by how much season 5 has shown of the couple’s sex lives. While the intimacy between the couple was implied and talked about, it was never shown. Fans think that production is starting to cross the line now.
‘Before the 90 Days’ shows intimate moments with Alina and Caleb
90 Day Fiancé has been good about documenting couples and their struggles in and out of the bedroom. However, when the couple starts getting intimate, the door closes on the cameras.
That’s why 90 Day Fiancé fans were shocked by how much of Caleb and Alina’s intimate relationship was shown on camera.
During the Jan 9th episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Caleb and Alina were finally at the hotel alone. Caleb throws Alina on the bed, and they start making out.
Since the couple remained mic’d up, the kissing sounds were the only thing audiences could hear. The cameras stay as they begin taking off their clothes. Then, Alina asks Caleb to turn off the lights, and the camera lingers as the kissing continues.
’90 Day Fiancé’ fan are are uncomfortable with the ‘cringey’ sex scenes
On Reddit, 90 Day Fiancé fans have expressed how uncomfortable the new way of filming couple’s intimacy has become in this new season.
One fan posted, “Like, am I supposed to think it’s not weird to see a couple making out touching each other with a camera crew around? For ALMOST A MINUTE? So far, they’ve done it with Jasmine & Gino, and today with Caleb and Alena.”
The fan wrote, “It’s awkward. Uncomfortable and cringey. Bring back the kiss and the ‘alright get out of here!’ And shut the door like Mike & Natalie, for example.”
Fans beg ’90 Day Fiancé’ bring back the old way of filming intimacy between couples
In all earlier seasons of 90 Day Fiancé and its spinoffs, when the couple wanted to get intimate, they would coyly kick out the cameras. This did a great job of letting the audience understand what is going on without seeing it.
One fan wrote, “I mean they go to the bedroom and start kissing.. why are the camera crew still recording? I remember they used to close the door, and that’s about it. Now, it’s a tad bit further and further.”
Many 90 Day Fiancé fans believe that the change could be the new production. Since discovery+ has picked up the franchise, they’ve been producing shows such as 90 Day: The Single Life and 90 Day: Bares All. Those shows have a mature rating, and the content is far more explicit.
While it’s streaming on discovery+ where there is far less censorship, Before the 90 Days is still being aired on TLC.
Many 90 Day Fiancé fans hope that the old way of showing a couple’s intimate life would return. However, it appears that this TMI way of showing the couples is the new normal.
90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days airs Sundays on TLC and discovery+.
