’90 Day Fiancé’: Geoffrey Paschel Reveals the Real Reason He Lost His Temper in the Restaurant With Varya Malina’s Friends

Geoffrey Paschel is one of the more controversial 90 Day Fiancé participants. He wasn’t invited to the season “Tell-All” because it was discovered that he’d been accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. When fans learned what Geoffrey was charged for, they started a petition to get him removed from the show. And it seems TLC paid attention.

In one 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days scene, Geoffrey loses his temper. Some fans of the show feel the outburst is “the REAL Geoffrey.”

When Geoffrey lost his temper with Varya and her friends

When Geoffrey went to Russia to visit Varya, they got off to an awkward start. Their interactions were stilted and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, when the controversial reality TV star met up with Varya’s friends, they weren’t shy about their wariness toward Geoffrey.

When they prompted Geoffrey to talk about some of his past criminal charges, he insisted that the past be left in the past. When they didn’t let up, Geoffrey got upset. At one point, one of Varya’s friends mentions that Geoffrey isn’t the first American man she’s dated. And that’s when things escalated.

Geoffrey proclaims that Varya lied to him and (loudly) calls the whole situation “bullsh*t.” One of Varya’s friends stands up when Geoffrey does in an effort to deescalate the scene. And Geoffrey storms out. He says he should have been “smarter” about dating a Russian woman. He believed the conversation was proof that Varya was using him to come to America.

Geoffrey says everything on ’90 Day Fiancé’ ‘was all real’

In an interview with The Domenick Nati Show that was filmed on May 19, Geoffrey speaks about the filming process. He feels producers never led him to act a certain way.

“The kind of retakes that we did was reentering into the restaurant a couple times because the lighting wasn’t right or something like that. But they’ll sit there for eight or 10 hours with that camera, you know, nodding off, trying to get the material they want, and I don’t feel like they steered me in any direction. I feel like I’m not pissed at the editing. I don’t care. I’m me and I accept that,” he said.

Geoffrey says when he lost his temper at the restaurant, it was because someone had said something about his son. And it was by no means staged by production.

“When you saw me lose my temper at the restaurant scene, the question that made me lose my temper was more or less something about my son and they were laughing about it. And that just pissed me off and what made me stand up,” he said.

Despite the unflattering restaurant scene, Geoffrey says he’s “not gonna b*tch about the editing.”

“A lot of the retakes weren’t anything that really mattered. When I proposed to her and stuff, that was all in one take. The walk up to there was maybe not in one take because they had to keep bouncing over each other. But it was all real,” he said.
