’90 Day Fiancé’: Geoffrey Paschel Reveals the Real Reason He Wanted a Russian Girlfriend
Geoffrey Paschel is one of the more controversial 90 Day Fiancé cast members. Fans discovered that he was arrested last year for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, and that it wasn’t the first time he’s been accused of abusive behavior.

Geoffrey has always maintained that the charges against him are “an agenda to try and make [him] lose custody of [his] child.”
“I know the truth. You got all these people putting on this press and this negativity and whatever else out there. I know what happened. I was there. And I’m ready to face it,” he said in an interview with The Domenick Nati Show on May 19.
“Every time my court date gets put off, specifically due to the pandemic, I’m trying to push the quickest court date that I can and get this stuff over with. So I’m trying my best to get this court date over with as quick as possible. Because I have everything I need to exonerate me,” he continued.
Fans were so upset with TLC for casting Geoffrey in the first place that they started a petition to get him removed from the show. TLC must have heard them loud and clear because they uninvited Geoffrey from the “Tell-All.”
“I feel that the network has bowed down to the pressure of a few thousand people as opposed to the 3 million people that watch the show, which is unfortunate. We’re in a different time now. The whole Me Too movement and whatever. So there’s a lot of pressure to cower to the minority,” he said of the network’s decision.
Why Geoffrey Paschel wanted to date a Russian woman
Nati asked Geoffrey why he decided to “look overseas” for a girlfriend. Geoffrey responded that he wanted something completely new because he tends to date “the same type of women.”
“The reason that I kind of played with it, toyed with it, in my mind is that, here, where I live, I go for the same type of women. I mean, that’s why I’m in the position I’m in now. I get these partners that I think, ‘Oh, I can help them. They need this, they need that. Let me fix them. I can be that person. They just need a good, strong shoulder to cry on’–whatever,” he said.
Geoffrey continued: “I got in that fixing rut and so I wanted something completely new. And that’s why I actually really contemplated Varya and toyed with it for five or six months before I saw her.”
90 Day Fiancé fans still don’t know if Geoffrey is with Varya Malina or Mary Wallace, if anyone at all. He was supposed to do his own “Tell-All” on his YouTube channel but pulled the video because “plans have changed.”
