’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?’: Elizabeth Says She Feels ‘Betrayed’ by Andrei
Andrei and Elizabeth Castravet are joining their families to celebrate their second wedding in Moldova on this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?. But after her family started digging into Andrei’s past, Elizabeth discovered a secret about her husband that left her feeling “betrayed.”
Elizabeth’s family grilled Andrei about his past on ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After’
On this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Elizabeth’s family reluctantly arrived in Moldova for her big wedding celebration. But as soon as they got landed, the family began grilling Andrei about his previous job as a detective. Her father and brother, Chuck and Charlie Potthast suspected Andrei fled the country and went to Ireland under questionable circumstances.
After getting into a huge fight with Andrei, Chuck, Charlie, and Elizabeth’s sister, Jen, interrogated his friend, Marcel. He finally opened up and told them that Andrei had to leave because of how corrupt the Moldovan police department was.
The family then confronted Andrei with this information in front of Elizabeth. Reluctantly, Andrei admitted that what Marcel said was true.
“You’re working for somebody and he is a higher rank,” Andrei told them. “So you have to execute the orders, and if you say no, they’re going to try to set you up. So I got set up with some stuff, and after this, I said, ‘No, I’m not going to do that anymore,’ and I just f****ng left.”
Elizabeth says she felt betrayed by Andrei
In the Sept. 6 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, after hearing Andrei reveal this secret to her family, Elizabeth is furious. Feeling betrayed, she wonders why Andrei never told her this.
“I knew a little bit about his past when he was a detective, but definitely not all of those details like he had to flee the country so he wouldn’t get in trouble,” Elizabeth tells producers. “Like, that’s insane to me.
“I feel betrayed,” she continues. “I expected the man I married to be completely honest with me, and Andrei hasn’t. In keeping these secrets so long, honestly, it’s not hard to question what other things he’s been keeping from me.”
Andrei admits he should have told Elizabeth
When Andrei and Elizabeth are alone at home, they discuss this secret that her family managed to dig up. Andrei tells her that he was in the middle of a life and death situation when he left Moldova, and he still feels uncomfortable talking about it.
“They asked me to do some stuff,” Andrei says. “I didn’t do it, I refused to do it, I left. I had to leave the country because if I didn’t leave, they will set me up and I will lose everything — not only my job, I would lose my f***ing life.”
“When I was working in law enforcement, you actually have to do things, like things that are not actually legal because someone asked you to do it who has connections,” he told 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? producers. “That’s how it is. It’s like a mob. I did what I had to do, but I escaped other things that could affect my future. I just did the right thing for me at that time. That’s it.”
After hearing Andrei’s full account, and his reasons for keeping it a secret, Elizabeth seems slightly less perturbed. “You have to be honest with me always,” she tells her husband as he hugs her. “You can’t hide from your past and lie to me, I’m your wife.”
Andrei gave her a kiss and reassured that everything is “all good.” Fans will see the two reality stars walk down the aisle in Moldova as this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? continues.
