On ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After’ Jess tells Colt how important her dad is
From the beginning of their romance on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Jess has been telling Colt that she can’t be with him unless her father, Silvio, approves. Before Colt heads for Brazil to meet him, she emphasizes how much her dad’s opinion means.
“My dad need to like you,” Jess says to Colt in the second episode. “Maybe my dad say, ‘No, Colt no good for you.’ My dad is very important for me. I love you, but I love my dad, and my dad’s more important, sorry. My dad thinks I need good boy for me.”
When Colt finally arrives in Brazil and meets Jess’ family, Silvio has questions. He straight out asks Colt what his intentions are and whether or not he’s ready to commit to Jess.
“She has never dated an American,” Silvio tells producers. “We have to see if he is man enough to take responsibility for her. If he wants to be with my daughter, he has to man up and marry her and not just fool around.”

With Colt and Brazil in common, Larissa and Jess have plenty to bond over. And ever since Jess and Colt split, the reality stars have been publicly supportive of one another on social media. In a recent Instagram story, Larissa revealed that she’s actually pretty good friends with Jess now.
“One of the best things that happened to me this season was becoming close friends with Jessica,” Larissa wrote in the post. “They wanted, they hoped, we would argue and try to back-stab one another, but that never happened. Instead, we understood each other with great respect.”

It seems like Jess may have gotten some criticism about her father after he appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After. She addressed the fact that some called him “weird” and revealed how he fought to adopt her when her mother died of cancer.
“This man called weird started dating my mom when she was 3 months pregnant with me,” Jess wrote. “He accepted her pregnancy, fell in love, and took good care of her and me when I was born. This ‘weird’ man also quit his job, his life to take care of my mother when she discovered that she had cancer, I was only 7 years old.”
“He took care of my mother, the house and me, the whole time taking care of us,” she continued. “My mother died when I was 11. That was when I found out he wasn’t my biological father.”
Jess revealed that after her mother passed, Silvio fought to become her legal guardian. She said that for her, he is a “hero” and “the best person God has put” in her life.
Soon after Jess shared the post, which features a picture of her with her father, Larissa left a sweet reply in the comments. “Great man and herooooooooooooooo,” she wrote, to which Jess responded, “He is the best.”
