90 Day Fiancé star Colt Johnson has not been able to find everlasting love in the two relationships featured in the franchise. A big reason for that seems to be his mother Debbie, who appears to find joy in sabotaging her son’s relationships. Fans recently noticed that Debbie has a new Instagram username, and many believe the new moniker proves she takes pride in her questionable behavior.
Debbie does not approve of Colt’s new girlfriend
On the latest season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? fans have watched Colt move on from his divorce from Larissa dos Santos. He started a new relationship with a woman from Brazil named Jess Caroline, and in recent episodes, Colt traveled to South America with Debbie to meet Jess and her family.
Considering Colt’s past drama on the series, fans didn’t have high expectations for his trip to Brazil with his mom. Debbie’s past comments and actions have indicated that she wants to be the most important woman in her son’s life.
“I don’t want Colt to not be able to be in my life. He and I have a very close relationship and… his last relationship, he was made to choose,” Debbie told the 90 Day Fiancé cameras.
During the Brazil trip, Debbie made it known that she didn’t like Jess, and she thinks her son’s girlfriend was using him to get a green card.
“I’m really worried that Jess’ intentions are to marry Colt and have babies and become a citizen of the United States,” said Debbie. “I don’t think Colt is really aware of the plan if that is the case.”
Mother Debbie loses it on ’90 Day Fiancé’
As Entertainment Tonight pointed out, Debbie invited herself on Colt’s trip to Brazil because she had doubts about his relationship with Jess. She was convinced that Colt was making the same mistake with Jess as he did with Larissa.
When they arrived in Brazil, Debbie couldn’t believe that Colt and Jess were already talking about baby names. The couple’s PDA also made Debbie — and 90 Day Fiancé fans —uncomfortable.
Debbie cursed out her son and his girlfriend before slamming the door because she wanted to be alone and rest after a 15-hour flight. Colt called his mom’s behavior rude but then defended her during a conversation with Jess.
Jess later revealed on Instagram that she didn’t like Debbie and she accused Colt of cheating.
“Mommy was too worried about her son getting another Brazilian ‘to use’ him, or the history repeats itself, but she forgot to teach him not to cheat again, manipulate, and not to lie again,” wrote Jess.
Mother Debbie gets a new username after her latest sabotage
One of Debbie’s most calculated moves during the Brazil trip was when Colt and Jess stopped by her room to say goodbye before going out on a date night.
Colt didn’t tell Jess that his friend Vanessa – someone who Jess is extremely jealous of – was cat-sitting for his mom. 90 Day Fiancé fans quickly noticed how Debbie used this as an opportunity to stir up trouble. She announced in front of Jess that Vanessa was watching the cats and had sent her a video from home.
A shocked Jess asked “What?” Then Colt replied, “Well, you don’t like her.”
Debbie added that they were her cats, and Vanessa was helping her out, not Colt. But he had promised her that he wouldn’t talk to Vanessa anymore, so Jess said “F**k you!” and left the room.
After her latest relationship sabotage, Debbie changed her Instagram username. Originally, she used the name @motherdebbiej, but she recently changed it to @savagedebbiej to let everyone know that she’s not playing.
This name change mirrors Colt’s Instagram username, which is @savagecoltj. One fan commented that the new name “cracks me up.” Another wrote that Debbie “earned” the “savage” name and it was an “excellent move.”
