And when it turned out that Lana was a real woman, not just a group of scammers, many fans were surprised. Some 90 Day Fiancé fans weren’t so sure about David Murphey’s obsessive behavior on his season of the show. Fans were shocked when Murphey revealed that he’d actually already traveled to Ukraine several times to meet Lana. They were shocked even further when he revealed he was stood up each time. 

Despite obvious indicators that Lana was not interested in meeting in-person, Murphey doubled down on his efforts to find her. He hired a Ukrainian private investigator to figure out who Lana was, and where she lived. 

Some fans felt as though this amounted to stalking, given the clear indication that Lana was not looking to meet Murphey one-on-one. 

“Yeah, he’s gone from delusional to falling off the deep end. This is actually making me uncomfortable, and angry,” wrote one Redditor of Murphey’s actions. 

Another added, “She chatted with him on a PAID dating site, sent him devil emoji and made him go mmmm. It’s so freaking obvious if you don’t have any way to contact someone other than a website that you have to pay to use, she’s not your ‘girlfriend’ dude. He is so delusional. It’s very scary.”

Are David Murphey and Lana still together?

Despite David Murphey’s failed past attempts, he was able to meet up with Lana eventually. It seems she agreed to meet him for the show, something that surprised 90 Day Fiancé fans. 

After meeting Lana, Murphey proposed with a cubic zirconia ring — not exactly the dreamiest proposal to the woman he’s been following. He claimed they could pick out a real ring at a different time. 

Unfortunately, it seems as though the engagement might be on the rocks. Murphey explained during the tell-all, “Right now, I would say we are not together. I’m not going to say we won’t be together in the future. She’s under way too much stress with what’s going on with the show. And the people who bother her. I told her that part’s your fault, you can’t get off.”

We know that Murphey supposedly spent over $100,000 on Lana and that he’s considering selling his home and belongings to purchase a $300,000 RV. However, this has left fans wondering whether Murphey is loaded, or just spends frivolously. 

According to LinkedIn, Murphey is an SR Systems Programmer. Distractify reports this could indicate a yearly salary of up to $112,000.

Murphey’s net worth isn’t public information just yet, but with information about his job and possible salary on hand, it seems safe to assume that Murphey has the capital to back up his choices.
