’90 Day Fiancé’: In a Surprise Twist, Andrei Apologizes to Chuck About Their Past Beef — ‘I’ve Been Wrong’
Andrei Castravet’s relationship with wife Elizabeth Potthast’s family has been strained for years. But amid all of his wedding drama in Molodova, the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After star surprisingly took the high road and apologized to his father-in-law Chuck Potthast for his rude behavior in the past.
Andrei and Chuck haven’t gotten along, as seen on ’90 Day Fiancé’
From the beginning of Andrei and Elizabeth’s 90 Day Fiancé journey, fans have watched Andrei butt heads with her family. Chuck has been pushing Andrei to find viable work. And to make it easy for him, he offered his son-in-law a position at his company. But Andrei refused, believing Chuck was only giving him the job to control him.
Still, Chuck helped the couple financially. However, this arrangement didn’t come without constant criticism from both Chuck and the rest of Elizabeth’s family.
“Elizabeth’s family don’t understand any boundaries, and they’re always in my business,” Andrei said on an earlier episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After. “My relationship with Elizabeth’s family is nonexistent. I don’t talk to them. I’m mostly seeing them at some family gatherings. They can laugh in your face, but the second day, if you ask them to do something, they will just turn you own and say no to you. That’s like my biggest issue. Being a double-faced.”
On ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After,’ Charlie creates a scene at Elizabeth and Andrei’s wedding
On the Sept. 20 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, Andrei and Elizabeth have a hard time enjoying their lavish wedding reception in Moldova because of her brother Charlie’s drunken rants. He makes snide remarks about them all night, and at one point, he grabs the microphone and blasts Andrei for taking Chuck’s money.
“I just want to say, we need to stop paying for your bullsh*t,” Charlie says on the mic. “Get your sh*t together. Don’t come to America and try to live off my dad. Don’t ask my dad for sh*t. Come to America, and earn your sh*t.”
Andrei apologizes to Chuck during his wedding in Moldova
After seeing Charlie continue to lose control, Andrei takes him outside to calm him down. But when he realizes it didn’t work, he asks Chuck to handle his son.
When Chuck suggests that he instigated a fight with Charlie, Andrei reveals how he tried to deescalate the situation. Then, in a heartfelt moment, Andrei apologizes to Chuck for all their past beef. And he admits he’s been rude and hard to deal with.
“The events in the past in our life was not the best…the best relationship,” Andrei says to his father-in-law. “I just wanted to say that I’m sorry about this. I want you and me to be more cordial to each other.”
Chuck looks stunned upon hearing Andrei’s apology. He points out that he’s always been a family man who’s tried to help them financially, and all he wants is for Andrei to appreciate that.
“I appreciate it,” Andrei replies. “I appreciate you now because you’re a strong man that takes care of your daughter. You take care of your family. You care about Elizabeth. You care about my daughter. Maybe I’m a sh*t head sometimes. I’ve been wrong, OK? I’ve been rude to you, but I want from now on all of this to work better in our favor.”
Chuck tells Andrei that he wants nothing but to see him and Elizabeth be successful in life. Then the two say ‘Cheers’, and toast their new understanding.
But it’s unclear whether or not this understanding continued when they all went back to America. Hopefully, fans will get an update during the upcoming 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After tell-all episode.
