’90 Day Fiancé’: Kalani Breaks Down as She Admits She No Longer Sees the Point in Being Married
We really had high hopes for Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa of 90 Day Fiancé, but it’s not looking good for them.
The couple has been battling through obstacles on the most recent season of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? that pose a major threat to their marriage. While reflecting on it all on the Sept. 20 episode, Kalani came to tears as she admitted she no longer sees the point in being with Asuelu.
Kalani and Asuelu have been through plenty of drama this season
One of the first bouts of drama between them came when Kalani complained that Asuelu wasn’t pulling his weight around the house. In response, he called her a “lying b*tch” and implied that she should take on certain responsibilities as a woman. The remarks triggered a lengthy back-and-forth that eventually ended with Asuelu apologizing for his actions.
But just when they were getting past it, more drama emerged when Asuelu’s family asked them for $1,000. His mom Lesina and sister Tammy told the couple that Asuelu has a responsibility as a Samoan man to support his parents. But Kalani was quick to remind Asuelu that they have their own family to take care of.
When Asuelu, much to his dismay, told his family they could not meet the request, it sparked a huge argument that played out across several episodes. Eventually, they were able to resolve the issue, but it had already taken a toll on the pair’s relationship.
Kalani and Asuelu are now faced with even more issues
On the Sept. 20 episode, it was revealed that the couple had been struggling even more while quarantining during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Kalani said that Asuelu had been going out as if there wasn’t a pandemic happening and lying about his whereabouts when asked. She became so frustrated that she kicked him out with a one-way ticket to Washington, where Lesina and Tammy live.
“I’m done with it. I need to protect my kids,” she said in a confessional. “I can’t keep letting him do whatever the hell he wants and I’m not just gonna let him back in the house with the babies.”
She continued, “We were already having a bunch of problems before quarantine. I just feel like that kind of made everything a whole lot worse. … I don’t know when he’s coming back because this is not working. It’s not working anymore.”
Kalani’s issues with Asuelu left her considering divorce
Sitting down with her mom, Kalani filled her in on what’s been going on in her marriage — from the lack of help she gets to his family drama.
“At this point, I don’t really see the point of being married anymore. I really am just done,” she explained as her voice began to crack. “Like every day that passes, I don’t see the point of it all. And I’ve just been fighting and trying my hardest, and it’s just me trying. There’s like 20% of me that’s waiting to see if he’ll change or if he’ll do something different but I’m not gonna hold my breath.”
She believed she would be able to make a final decision once she and Asuelu have more time apart but overall, she didn’t seem to have high hopes based on their history.
