’90 Day Fiancé’: Kalani Faagata Blocks Fan Who Thinks She Needs to ‘Take Some Responsibility’ In Her Battle With Depression
90 Day Fiancé star Kalani Faagata and her husband, Asuelu Pulaa, have continued to share their story on season 5 of the spinoff Happily Ever After?. Fans haven’t been shy when it comes to sharing their thoughts about Kalani’s family on social media, but she doesn’t want to hear any negativity.
’90 Day Fiancé’ fans have questions about Asuelu Pulaa and Kalani Faagata’s finances
Known as one of the most controversial couples in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, fans have watched Kalani and Asuelu constantly fight about money. Kalani has a problem with Asuelu’s inability to find a job that will allow him to provide for his family. Currently, he is working part-time in a health and wellness shop.
Even though Asuelu’s income isn’t at a level where Kalani wants it to be, during a recent episode he went on a shopping spree and bought extravagant gifts for his family without checking the price tag. He also insisted on giving $1000 cash to his mom, but she argued they wouldn’t be able to cover their household expenses.
Fans are curious to know if Kalani has a job that would help contribute to the family income. According to her Instagram account, she appears to be a stay-at-home mom and does not work at all outside the home.
She did recently reveal that she used to work in a group home for teen moms before joining the cast of 90 Day Fiancé.
Their visit to Portland was awkward and filled with drama
During a recent episode, Kalani and Asuelu traveled to Portland to visit with his mom and two sisters. As Entertainment Tonight points out, the visit was awkward from the start. Asuelu’s mom was expecting that $1,000 she requested, and that caused tension.
When the couple and their boys finally met up with his mom and sisters, Kalani got quite the shock. She witnessed his mother plant a long kiss on Asuelu’s lips. The 90 Day Fiancé star later told her husband it was “weird and awkward” to see him “making out” with his mom.
Asuelu was not happy about Kalani’s comments, but the real problems came when the couple told his mom that they could only give her $100 to send to their family in Samoa. His mom and sisters voiced their anger and frustration, while both Kalani and Asuelu tried to explain they didn’t have money to spare.
“Kalani told me in the past that my family only calls me when they need money, but today, I feel that it’s true,” Asuelu told 90 Day Fiancé cameras.
Kalani Faagata doesn’t really want advice from ’90 Day Fiance’ fans
The 90 Day Fiance star recently opened up on Instagram about her struggle with depression, explaining that she hasn’t been feeling like herself lately.
“I can feel myself going deeper and deeper into depression, to a degree that I haven’t seen for a few years,” wrote Kalani. “It’s scary that I’ve worked hard on correcting habits and ideas that took me to those places, only to have them pop-up out of nowhere.”
The 90 Day Fiancé star wrote that the majority of people in her circle are feeling the same way and thought maybe it is just the result of being stuck in quarantine or possibly stress.
One fan who works in mental health told Kalani they felt “sorry” for her since she is battling depression while having two kids with someone she “barely knew.” They added that she should “take some responsibility.”
Kalani immediately doxed the fan and tagged the woman’s employer. She later told her followers that she would block anyone who messages her and suggests anyone in her family should be assessed for mental health issues.
New episodes of 90 Day Fiancé air Sunday nights on TLC.
