’90 Day Fiancé’: Kalani Faagata Shared the Most Heart-Warming Tribute To Her Parents – ‘I Love You Both More Than I Could Ever Express’
Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa made names for themselves in season 6 of the original 90 Day Fiancé. Fans fell in love with the quirky couple, and that wasn’t the last viewers would see of them. They were a part of other spinoffs in the franchise, but the one that made them household names to many was season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After.
How Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa met
Kalani and Asuelu met on Kalani’s first trip to Samoa, where her father, Low Faagata, is originally from. Asuelu was the activities director for the resort that Kalani was staying at back in 2016.
“He kind of semi-stalked me around the resort, but it was really sweet,” Kalani told the camera in an episode of the original 90 Day Fiancé. “He’d like watch after me when I was swimming in the pool, or if I was walking around. Then one of the nights I saw him shirtless and I was like, ‘OK, this could work.’”
Before Kalani met Asuelu she was a virgin. She had sex with him, and she ended up pregnant right away with their son, Oliver, who was born in 2018. They had another son, Kennedy, in 2019. The couple went on to tie the knot in September 2018.
But the marriage isn’t without its issues, and they’re on full display in season 5 of Happily Ever After. In one moment in the car on a trip to California, Asuelu said, “Woman’s job here, it’s easy,” referring to American women while in front of Kalani, her mom, and their two kids. He also called his wife a “lying b****,” after she called him a “freaking liar” when he said he was up “sometimes” with their sick children. They also struggled with other major hurdles in their marriage, including drama with Asuelu’s family over money.
Kalani’s dad, Low, has had to step in and talk to Asuelu before
Kalani’s parents, Lisa and Low Faagata, are extremely supportive of their daughter and their grandkids. Low has even had to talk to Asuelu before about his behavior, including after Asuelu had that awkward conversation with his wife and mother-in-law in the car.
It turns out that Asuelu was upset that he couldn’t take the kids to Samoa because of a measles outbreak. And during the car ride, Asuelu makes some comments that neither Kalani nor Lisa appreciate. He admits to the cameras that he was “upset” about canceling their trip and that he “missed” his family.
Lisa didn’t like what Asuelu was saying obviously, and Low confronts Asuelu about it. Although Asuelu admits to arguing with Low’s wife and that he shouldn’t have said the things he did, that doesn’t stop Low from making his opinions known.
He tells his son-in-law that he doesn’t want the kids to hear stuff like that, since they were in the backseat at the time of the argument.
“I don’t like you cussing in front of my wife and my daughter,” Low says to him. “That’s not acceptable.” At one point, he also adds: “I’m trying my best not to get violent.” He tells him he’ll “have to learn how to treat” Kalani. After that conversation, Asuelu promises to say sorry to his wife, which he does.
Kalani shared the most heart-warming tribute to her parents
Kalani has been known to share some amazing photos of her family, and she recently shared a couple images with her fans on Instagram. Her parents can be seen in the candid shots, and it’s a truly sweet sentiment. This family is clearly affectionate if this latest post is anything to go on.
The first image is a young Kalani as a child and her father as a young man. They’re touching heads as Kalani smiles for the camera. The next photo she shared is of her mother all smiles holding one of her kids as a baby, presumably Kalani, while sporting a pink turtleneck. There are also two separate shots of Low and Lisa holding one of their grandkids. Another unique photo was also on display of Low wearing a hoodie over his head while he holds the kids in his arms in matching outfits with camouflage pants.
There is even a family photo with the grandparents, Kalani, and her kids all gathered together outside smiling. Plus, there’s a shot of Low and Lisa side by side. Low has on a black hat while Lisa wears her hair up in a bun with sunglasses on. But the last photo seems to be the oldest one included of Kalani’s happily married parents. They stand close to each other, and Lisa has her eyes closed, while Low, sporting long hair, looks off somewhere else. Although the image doesn’t show the bottom half of them, they appear to be holding each other.
Kalani shared a truly sweet caption calling them “the perfect parents” for her. She captioned the photo on Instagram: “My parents aren’t perfect, but I do believe they’re the perfect parents for me. I love you both more than I could ever express 💞🤴🏾👸🏻💞 (Last slide explains my great hair LMAOOOO) #SamoanFabio,” she wrote while tagging her parents.
It’s nice to see these intimate photos of Kalani’s family. We’ll have to see what this year has in store for them.
