’90 Day Fiance’ Fans Think TLC Staged the Lana & David Murphey Storyline
For weeks, 90 Day Fiance fans have been buzzing about David Murphey and his mysterious girlfriend, Lana. It seemed that he, like many people before him, was simply the target of an elaborate ruse. According to Murphey, he and Lana had dated for seven years via the Internet. However, every time he attempted to meet her, prior to filming 90 Day Fiance, she had an excuse as to why she couldn’t show up. But, rather than cut his losses, Murphey decided to dig deeper.
After flying to Ukraine and having Lana stand him up for the fourth time, Murphey went back to the U.S. and hired a private investigator to try and find her. But, when the investigator didn’t give Murphey the answers that he wanted to hear, he parted ways and opted to do his own research. In a surprising twist, Murphey discovered that Lana was, in fact, real and who she says is. But, many 90 Day Fiance fans suspect that something is fishy about the entire situation.
’90 Day Fiance’ still think that the relationship between David Murphey and Lana was fake
On the official 90 Day Fiance Instagram page, many fans are speculating that Murphey paid Lana to appear in order to save face. They argue that Lana was scamming him, but he paid her off so as not to suffer further humiliation on national television. “I have no doubts he must have paid her to show up. Just to stroke his ego. No reason for him to go back to Ukraine after being so defeated the last time. For her to show up NOW it’s definitely fishy,” one person wrote confidently.
But, other 90 Day Fiance fans have an alternative theory. They believe that it was TLC, not Murphey, who was manipulating things behind the scene. While some fans believe that TLC paid Lana off to appear on the show, others believe that they fabricated the entire storyline. Fans believe that Murphey’s entire storyline is simply beyond the scope of believability and the 90 Day Fiance production team created the entire narrative to boost ratings.
Did TLC and the ’90 Day Fiance’ production team fake the Lana storyline for ratings?
“Personally I think the 90 day production team planted this fake relationship between David and Lana for rating purposes. Something ain’t right. It looked very scripted… almost similar style as Caesar. They are not fooling me, 🤔” one fan of 90 Day Fiance wrote on Instagram. “I think this Lana story was completely staged by TLC for ratings. I’m not buying it,” another person chimed in.
Others found it suspicious how much the 90 Day Fiance production team was spotlighting the Lana storyline, both on the show and on social media. Furthermore, they found it improbable that Murphey was unable to connect with Lana for seven years, but she showed up right in time for them to get a clear cut ending to Murphey’s story.
Is the entire show manufactured?
Additionally, many fans weren’t even moved by the storyline, despite all the bells and whistles. “I found him and his story the least favorable to watch. And she shows up just in the knick of time? Nope. Totally manufactured,” an Instagram user wrote. Who can say what really went down between Lana, Murphey, and the 90 Day Fiance production team? But, one thing we know for sure is that reality TV is never as real as producers try to convince us it is.
