’90 Day Fiance’: Lana Reveals Why She Lied to David Murphey
Lana and David Murphey’s interactions on 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days may be in person now but they are still just as cringeworthy as ever. After forcing Lana to finally come and meet him after seven years of talking, Murphey has a lot of catching up to do with his Ukrainian girlfriend. Now, Lana has come clean about a few things.
How did David and Lana meet?
Murphey and Lana did not meet by chance. In fact, Murphey was searching for a girl like her for years.
“When the internet was brand new a tenant of mine showed me a website where you could meet Russian and Filipino women,” he wrote in an Instagram Q&A. “I had an interest in Russians. Within months, the Ukrainian women on the site outnumbered the Russians. I went to both countries. A few years later, Ukraine became more Western-like and you didn’t even need a visa to go there. Russia requires a visa and you have to register everywhere you go. It was just harder to travel in.”
And during his search, he encountered many women, but none of the relationships ever got as far as his with Lana.
“I stopped dating in the USA 15 years ago,” he continued. “Every time I did I would start thinking about Ukraine, so I stopped trying so my heart was free just in case I went to Ukraine. I have dated well over 100 women in Ukraine. Turned down many marriage proposals and have been turned down twice myself.”
Why did Lana wait so long to meet David?
Lana and Murphey had been dating for seven years before they met in person, but it wasn’t for lack of trying. Murphey had attempted to meet up with Lana four times before he actually saw her. Each time, she had a crazy excuse as to why she could not meet him.
When the cameras finally caught up with Lana, she said she never lied to Murphey about why she could not meet.
Why did Lana lie to David?
On his fourth attempt at meeting Lana, Murphey became frustrated when she did not show up. Instead of just going home and licking his wounds, Murphey went to an address that Lana had given him a while back. But when he got there, Lana was not there and a man in the building said that he had never seen anyone like Lana in the building before.
When Lana finally did meet up with Murphey, he couldn’t resist asking her what was up with the address and why she gave him a fake one.
Lana said that she didn’t feel comfortable or think it was smart giving her real address to a man who she had never met.
Throughout the May 24 episode, it became clear that Murphey was a lot further along in the relationship than Lana was. He constantly asked her for affection, to which she replied that it was too soon. He even spoke about getting engaged to her and moving her back to America. But despite her excitement about potentially living in the USA, Lana just wasn’t ready to take things to the next level with her American boyfriend.
