‘90 Day Fiancé’: Liz Is ‘Grateful’ She Didn’t Marry Big Ed
90 Day Fiancé star Liz Woods is speaking out about her dramatic split from Big Ed Brown.
Liz and Ed have broken up and made up more time than most 90 Day fans can count. But the couple’s tumultuous relationship finally came to an end following an epic argument over taco pasta, as seen in the April 21 episode 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 8.
Liz admits that she was shocked with how the breakup played out. But at the same time, she says she’s thankful that things ended when they did and is glad that she and Ed didn’t go through with their planned wedding.
Liz from ‘90 Day Fiancé’ opens up about Big Ed split
Liz recently sat down with Access Hollywood to talk about her life post-Ed. She said she is happier and healthier now that her relationship with Ed is in the past. The same goes for her 10-year-old daughter Ryleigh.
“I just needed time to come back to being me,” she said.
“Obviously, it’s not something I ever wished or thought I would be where I’m at right now,” she added. “But I’m definitely grateful that the marriage didn’t end up going through. And it’s allowed me to just refocus on who I am as a person. I actually don’t even know who I was the last couple of years.”
The ‘90 Day’ star is getting her ‘glow’ back after her breakup
Ending things with Ed lifted a weight from Liz’s shoulders, which people will see when they watch the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? reunion.
“I definitely feel at the tell-all people are going to see me really happy and getting my glow back,” she said.
The tell-all also marked the last time that she saw Ed in person. Liz says this last breakup was final. Unlike in the past, she’s not interested in a reconciliation with her ex.
The tell-all “was definitely the last time that I ever plan on speaking to him or would like to speak to him,” she said. “I’m just so focused on moving forward.”
For Liz, moving forward means opening herself up to new opportunities for love. The TLC star confirmed rumors that she is dating someone new. But this time around, she’s “setting boundaries” in her next relationship.
Liz and Ed had ordered wedding bands just before their breakup
Liz also shared her thoughts on the epic argument that led to her and Ed’s breakup just weeks before they planned to walk down the aisle. The clash began when Liz’s daughter said that the taco pasta meal Ed had made was too spicy. Ed told Ryleigh to stop complaining, and Liz stood up to defend her. Things spiraled from there, with Ed abruptly calling off the wedding – without bothering to inform Liz of his decision.
The about-face left Liz reeling, especially because she and Ed had ordered their wedding bands 24 hours before their relationship-ending fight. Now, she thinks he was just looking for a way to avoid commitment.
“I’m pretty sure he was just looking for an excuse,” she said. “But I’m just not OK with how the situation happened, with him kind of going after my daughter.”
“I think me finally sticking up for myself and saying something was just kind of a shock,” she said. “I just wanted to stand up for my daughter.”
