’90 Day Fiancé’: Loren Brovarnik Defends Angela Deem: ‘Michael Scammed Her’
The 90 Day Fiancé family is taking sides. Several stars of the reality franchise have rallied to support Michael Ilesanmi in his battle with estranged wife Angela Deem, including Kobe Blaise and Jasmine Pineda. But not everyone in the Happily Ever After? Season 8 cast is coming to his defense. Loren Brovarnik is firmly in Angela’s camp.
Loren from ‘90 Day Fiancé’ weighs in on Angela and Michael drama
Though Angela and Michael have been together for years, season 8 of Happily Ever After? was the first time they were physically together for the show’s explosive tell-all episodes. That meant other cast members had a front-row seat to all their drama, including Angela’s aggressive and threatening behavior toward Michael and her anger when a PI was unable to uncover proof of his alleged scamming. At one point, she almost got into a physical altercation with Kobe when he stepped up to defend Michael.
Several cast members were obviously disturbed by Angela’s treatment of Michael, who had only recently arrived in America after years of waiting for a visa. But Loren came away believing Angela was the victim in the relationship.
“I love Angela … I do not condone the way that she handles herself sometimes. I don’t condone the way she speaks sometimes,” Loren said in a video she shared on Instagram.
While Loren didn’t necessarily agree with Angela’s actions, she felt her concerns about her Nigerian husband were legitimate. The 58-year-old grandmother has become convinced that Michael is scamming her for a green card, even though the investigator she hired found no evidence of shady behavior on his part. Angela wasn’t convinced, and neither was Loren.
“I wholeheartedly feel that Michael scammed her. It was the biggest scam in the show. It’s horrible,” Loren said.
Angela comes off as demanding and erratic on 90 Day. But Loren says there’s more to her than angry outbursts.
“I do think there are sides we don’t see … she’s the first person to give her shirt off her back to somebody,” she said.
The mom of three said she could understand how some people saw Angela’s behavior as abusive. “But she’s been nothing but nice to us and supportive of us,” she said.
Loren Brovarnik thinks Michael’s behavior is suspicious
Soon after filming the 90 Day tell-all, Michael fled Angela’s home in Georgia. Months later, Angela filed for an annulment, claiming that Michael had tricked her into marriage in order to get a green card. In response, Michael said Angela was abusive and he left her home because he feared for his safety. He’s asking for a divorce as well as spousal support.
To cover his expenses in his legal battle with Angela, Michael started a GoFundMe. He quickly raised nearly $50,000. An outraged Angela has pointed to the fundraiser as more evidence of his scamming. Loren agrees.
“Now Michael is posting pictures of himself with a Mercedes?” she said in her video. “So this GoFundMe, I don’t know. I personally don’t buy it. I don’t believe it.”
Loren also said that while filming the tell-all Michael admitted to sharing Angela’s tax information online, which Loren said was a red flag.
Michael hasn’t directly responded to Loren’s comments calling him a scammer. But he did address one of her points. In a Facebook update, Michael said that the luxury car he was photographed posing next to did not belong to him.
“Just to clear the air, I did not buy any red Benz,” he wrote. “I only posed near the car. It’s for a friend, not mine!”
