‘90 Day Fiancé’: Mike’s Attempt To Humiliate and Manipulate Ximena Backfires
On 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 5, Mike Berk is upset that Ximena Morales is breaking up with him and tries to humiliate her. However, Mike’s attempts to manipulate Ximena only makes him look bad. Now, the 90 Day Fiancé fans are on Ximena’s side.
Mike throws his gifts and money in Ximena’s face
On the March 27 episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Ximena decides that she wants to break up with Mike. As fans know, Mike had agreed to help Ximena financially until she found a job that could sustain her and her family. He spent an estimated $15,000 on her throughout their year-and-a-half-long relationship.
Despite breaking up with Mike, Ximena allowed him to stay until his flight back to New York the next day. In the morning, she gave him back her engagement ring and the wedding rings they picked out. Mike tells her, “Why don’t you keep the rings and guard them safe until we can work out our differences.” Ximena tells him that there’s no point, as their relationship is over.
Mike’s mood shifts after hearing this. He tells her, “You do realize that you’re losing the best thing you could have ever had.” He then tries to guilt-trip her about how much money he’s spent on her. He says, “Throughout this year-and-a-half-long relationship, I was able to keep you secure in a house, so you weren’t out on the street with you and your children.”
She replies, “Just because you paid for my rent, and you helped me, doesn’t mean I’d be on the street. I can work as a model, and that’ll pay for my rent and food.”
Mike attempts to humiliate Ximena for sex work
After Ximena mentioned that she could work as a model, Mike tries to humiliate her by revealing her job. He said, “What kind of modeling job are you going to work for? Are you going to go back to that adult internet job?” She tells him in Spanish, “And what’s wrong with that? You met me while I was working.”
Ximena explains to the cameras, “Here in Colombia, work is very hard to find. It’s hard, and what they pay is very little. Before I met Mike, I started working as a webcam model, and that’s how we met, through the website.”
She explained, “Mike is a little uncomfortable with people knowing I met him through a webcam website, but the truth is that he was always every day he was there. And one day, he told me, get out of there, and I’ll help you. And from then on, he started helping me.”
He tells Ximena that being with him opens up bigger opportunities for her. He said that he wanted to help her learn English and help her find a good job in New York.
’90 Day Fiancé’ fans are on Ximena’s side
Many 90 Day Fiancé fans are flooding the internet to defend Ximena. They’re also calling out Mike for his attempt at humiliating and manipulating her into staying with him.
One 90 Day Fiancé fan wrote, via Reddit, “So, not only was Ximena telling the truth this whole time but we once again are forced to watch Mike continue to grasp at straws for any bit of power and control he can gain over Ximena.”
The post continues, “The rest of the conversation was just his way of trying to gaslight Ximena into doubting her decision. Acting as if he was her and her children’s savior and that they’d be on the streets without him was gross. And trying to low-key shame her about her cam work when that’s exactly how he met her was disgusting.”
Many fans not only found Mike’s behavior alarming but actually dangerous when he refused to leave Ximena’s home. The former fan-favorite has now secured his spot as this season’s villain due to his treatment of Ximena.
