’90 Day Fiancé’: Nicole Nafziger Made It Back to the U.S.A. Just in Time for This Big Milestone in May’s Life
Nicole Nafziger has gotten a lot of heat from 90 Day Fiancé fans for leaving her daughter May at the beginning of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Nafziger hadn’t initially planned on staying in Morocco with her boyfriend Azan Tefou for so long, but once travel restrictions set in, she found it hard to get home. Now that Nafziger is finally back, she has been around for some big moments in May’s life.
Fans call Nicole out
Nafziger ended up spending months in Morocco away from May. During that time, fans questioned her parenting decisions. Nafziger’s mother Robbalee eventually stepped in to defend her daughter.
“There was no abandonment,” Robbalee responded to a fan in a comment captured by In Touch. “She (May) is getting to spend some time with her grandparents while her mommy is away. There is a lot more to this story than a simple answer.”
She went on to say that though Nafziger was not around physically, she was still present in May’s life.
“They watch TV together or she shows her the peppers that grow in the garden,” she continued. “Right now, Florida is not even a safe place to come home to. When it is safe to travel, she looks forward to coming home. We are lucky to have this time with her.”
Nicole’s trouble with coming back to the U.S.A.
Nafziger had trouble coming home as less flights were leaving Morocco and flights around the world were being canceled. Some fans thought that the reality star was using these reasons as an excuse not to come home and even alleged that the U.S. government would pay for Americans to come back to the country.
Nafziger responded to the comment, saying that that was false.
“Haha, they’re paying for it?” she wrote. “I’d like to know where they said that because every time I’ve looked into it, it’s [2-3 times] the price of a normal flight that the passenger has to pay. Y’all think you’ve got it all figured out because of whatever you [hear], but [were] you one of the people who had to actually email the government to see? Nope. Stop judging my [life] and decisions. Just an idea. I know you won’t listen because it’s easier to pin me as a bad mom and gossip about the drama. Soon enough, y’all can take a [peek] into my real life. Maybe.”
Nafziger got so desperate that she even went on online forums to find help. She posted in a Facebook group called U.S. Citizens trapped in Morocco and asked for advice on what was needed to travel to Casablanca.
What did May do?
Since Nafziger got back to America, she has been spending a lot of time with May and posting their adventures on Instagram. Recently, Nafziger shared that May had lost a tooth.
“May lost another tooth today!” Nafziger wrote. “We tied it up with dental floss and were going to slam the door but before we could she accidentally yanked it out! She was so worried it would hurt but didn’t even notice when she yanked it out!😂 For being so brave May got her first LEGO set today.”
