’90 Day Fiancé:’ Alina reveals she and Steven have been saving themselves for marriage
On the episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, which aired Sunday, September 5th, audiences finally get to meet Alina. She’s excited to be with Steven in Turkey, where they hope to get married. She’s looking forward to spending time together in their apartment there and starting their new life. Alina is giving up a year of her studies at university to move to Turkey to be with Steven.
She said that since Steven’s Mormon faith is so important to him, she’s agreed to save herself for marriage with him. Alina revealed that she’s a virgin, not by choice, but because she wants to support him in his faith. Since they are both saving themselves for marriage, Steven told her they would stay in two different spots in Turkey. He said, this way, there will be less temptation to have sex with each other. Alina isn’t too thrilled about it and tells Steven she doesn’t really feel comfortable living in a foreign country alone.
Steven reveals he’s broke the law of chastity and isn’t a virgin
While Steven is trying so hard to maintain the law of chastity, he revealed that he had broken it. On the premiere episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Steven told cameras that he had done something that made him fall short of the standards of the LDS church. He’s worried that if he tells Alina, she will not want to join the church, which might jeopardize their relationship.
He finally told the cameras what he did. He said, “One thing I still need to tell Alina is that I am not a virgin and that I’ve had sexual relationships in the past.” He explained, “Those are things that are not endorsed by the church, and those are things that I did.”
Steven will have to come clean to Alina about his past
Alina already isn’t happy about the idea of living alone in Turkey. She said he could control himself, and they can spend time together before they get married. Alina is already making a sacrifice for him by agreeing to stay a virgin, unblemished in the eyes of the church, with the hopes she could join. While it might not seem like a big deal to some people, this is a huge deal for both Steven and Alina. Since Alina is already having doubts about his fidelity during their relationship, it could cause massive doubt for her and cause her not to trust him. She said that Steven would oftentimes go and spend the night at girls’ houses that were just his “friends.” While this made her uncomfortable, she chooses to trust Steven instead of putting him to the test like her friend suggested.
