’90 Day Fiancé’ Fans Are Appalled That Emily Doesn’t Let Kobe See His Son Right Away
90 Day Fiancé Season 9’s newest episode debuted on Apr. 24, and fans learned more about some of the new couples introduced this season, including Emily and Kobe. Emily and Kobe are finally reunited after two years, and Emily wants some alone time with Kobe before she takes him back to her house, where she lives with her parents. However, fans are appalled that she doesn’t let him see his son first.
‘90 Day Fiancé’ Season 9 star Emily wants to spend one night alone with Kobe before he meets his son, Koban
Emily and Kobe met when both of them lived abroad in China. Emily taught English, while Kobe worked as an international underwear model. They met at a club one night, and Emily gave some steamy details about their first night together.
“We hooked up that night, and we had sex, and it was really hot. It actually happened in the shower on the floor for two hours.” The Salina, Kansas native continued, “I thought Kobe was just going to be a really fun one-night stand, but things got really serious, really fast.”
Emily tells 90 Day Fiancé producers that Kobe proposed to her in Xi’an, China, but about four weeks later, she said she “felt really weird.” That’s when she took several pregnancy tests and confirmed she was pregnant.
When Kobe arrives in the United States, Emily plans for the couple to spend the night in a hotel and get some alone time.
Emily explains her plans for Kobe to the 90 Day Fiancé cameras, “I have a surprise planned for Kobe once he gets to America. I want to spend one night together before we meet Koban because I’m super worried about what our sex life is going to be like now. I mean, when are we ever going to have sex in my parents’ house? So this is a really important night for me, and I hope he’s on board with it.”
‘90 Day Fiancé’ fans felt Emily was wrong for not letting Kobe meet his son immediately
Emily’s decision not to let Kobe meet his son, Koban, immediately upon arriving in the United States irritated fans. Many felt the decision was unfair.
One Redditor wrote, “I’m just so annoyed on Kobe’s behalf. Imagine him being exhausted after the flight but excited to see his son for the first time. Then Emily just springs it on him that he’s not getting to see his son today and he’s expected to have sex with her fresh off the plane. It’s also really odd how normal Emily thinks this behavior is. Didn’t seem to have any regard for his feelings, or even his desire to know where he’s going to be in the next hour.”
Another 90 Day Fiancé fan didn’t understand why Emily had to make these plans the first night, “Couldn’t she spend their first weekend at the hotel? I’m sure her family would get that and watch the kid if they’re doing it for the first night. Take it from someone who knows; the sex after a transcontinental flight isn’t great. You are exhausted. And he’s gonna be so jetlagged that they definitely won’t be sleeping at the same time.”
The teaser for next week shows Kobe learning he won’t see his son right away
Fans got to see 90 Day Fiancé couple Emily and Kobe’s initial reunion at the airport. However, it’s not until next week’s episode that we see Kobe’s reaction when he learns of Emily’s plans.
Kobe tells Emily, “I want to meet Koban so badly.”
She replies with her idea for them to spend time together in a hotel, but Kobe becomes annoyed. “I feel like she’s being selfish,” Kobe tells the 90 Day Fiancé producers. “I want to see my son. Please.”
