‘90 Day Fiancé’ Season 9: Guillermo Reveals Kara’s Drinking Habits Makes Him ‘Uncomfortable’
90 Day Fiancé Season 7 cast member, Guillermo reveals that his finacée, Kara’s drinking habits are becoming a problem for him. He said that it makes him feel “uncomfortable.” Could their differing lifestyles cause them to break up?
Kara and Guillermo’s journey on ’90 Day Fiancé’ so far
29-year-old Kara fell in love with 23-year-old Guillermo while on a work trip to the Dominican Republic. After returning home, the two kept in contact but didn’t think they could maintain a long-distance relationship. However, when Kara’s job relocated her to the Dominican Republic, everything changed for the couple.
After Kara moved in with Guillermo in the Dominican Republic, the two became engaged. However, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Kara had to move back home to Charlottesville, Va. Nine months later, Guillermo’s K-1 visa was approved. Now Guillermo is in the United States, ready to start his new life with his fiancée.
Guillermo says Kara’s drinking makes him feel ‘uncomfortable’
On the May 22 episode of 90 Day Fiancé, Kara’s friends, Hillary and Cooper, meet Guillermo for the first time and ask many questions regarding their relationship.
Hillary asked Guillermo if there was anything Kara did that he didn’t like. He replied, “When Kara drinks, a lot.” He explained, “At some point, she wants to just keep going and never stop. And [it’s] so bad to say every time that you drink, I know almost exactly how it’s gonna end.”
Hillary asks Guillermo, “How does it end?” He explains, “Drunk. Not remembering what happened the last night.” Kara chimes in, “I probably remember the beginning of it.” He says, “But I would love to enjoy the whole thing.”
When speaking to the cameras, Hillary agrees that Kara likes to live life on “Kara’s terms” and sometimes lacks regard for her fiancé.
Guillermo tells the cameras, “Sometimes she know [sic] what makes me feel uncomfortable, and she still wants to do it.” He explained that on the nights out when he wants to go back home, Kara refuses to leave. She said, “I hate being the first people to leave a party.”
Kara doesn’t see her drinking as an issue
During the meal, Hillary asks the 90 Day Fiancé couple, “Do you guys feel like you fight more when Kara’s drinking?” Kara answers, “Absolutely.” Guillermo says that Kara always promises to try to control her drinking. And even Kara agrees that she could try harder because “there’s always room for improvement.”
However, if Kara chooses to keep drinking, Guillermo won’t try to stop her. He said, “I won’t tell her that she cannot do it, but definitely, she will have to understand that always I will have a limit.”
Will Kara’s outgoing lifestyle be too much for Guillermo? With only 90 days to get married, it will be interesting to see if this couple will overcome their differences and make it down the aisle.
