Almost immediately, there is drama between Debbie and Jess when they first meet in Brazil. Things only get worse after marriage is brought up at the dinner table with Jess’ family, and Debbie ends up leaving to go back to the hotel after exchanging words with Jess.

On another occasion, Debbie mentions that she spoke with Vanessa Guerra, a friend of Colt’s who Jess asked him to stop speaking with. Jess gets really upset when she learns the truth about Colt’s friendship with Vanessa. Vanessa is watching Colt and Debbie’s cats while they are in Brazil, but Colt told Jess that he wouldn’t talk to her anymore. However, they are still talking, and Jess learns the truth when she talks to Vanessa herself. It leads to a huge argument between Colt and Jess that almost leads to a break-up.

In a sneak peek of tonight’s episode, Colt and Debbie go out to a custard shop where they talk about Colt’s relationship with Jess.

“After the experience in Brazil with Jess, I think Colt knows that I’m not in favor of this relationship. It’s a rebound for one, and desperation for another,” Debbie tells the cameras. “But I have to respect Colt, and this is something that he has to decide for himself.”

Colt mentions that people make mistakes, and that doesn’t mean that he and Jess shouldn’t be together. Debbie asks her son if he thinks Jess loves him, and he says he does. “Yelling at you, screaming at you. That’s love?” Debbie asks.

“It’s passion,” Colt replies. He tells his mother that he thinks Jess should come and visit him in Las Vegas, Nevada. “I think she should come out here. To stay with us, to try again with you. Are you OK with that? I think we can try again in Vegas.”

Colt continues trying to sell the idea to his mother by saying he loves Jess. Debbie agrees to things, but she doesn’t seem too thrilled about it.

Colt has a secret he’s been keeping from Jess

Things are about to get really awkward when Jess comes to stay with Colt, considering he’s currently allowing Vanessa to live with him right now. Debbie asks Colt if he plans to tell Jess before she arrives about Vanessa.

“I feel horrible, because I actually have been keeping another thing from Jess,” Colt tells producers. “A few days after I returned from Brazil, Vanessa was having a hard time during her divorce and needed a place to stay. My mother invited her to stay with us.”

What will this mean for Jess’ impending trip to Las Vegas? It sounds like things aren’t going to play out well for anyone in this situation.
