‘90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Sumit Singh Puts a Stop to Marriage With Jenny Slatten
On 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 3, the stars have finally aligned for Sumit Singh to marry Jenny Slatten. For over a decade, obstacles kept the two from getting married. Now that they’re given the green light from the astrologer, Jenny and Sumit sign an application to get married. However, Sumit has cold feet and puts a stop to the application before it can get filed.
Sumit and Jenny apply for the marriage certificate
In the Nov 14 episode of The Other Way (via discovery+), Jenny is overjoyed she and Sumit can get married after nine days. Once at the marriage lawyer’s office, they explain that they must get married legally, not religiously, and without ceremony. The lawyer says, “I understand a little superstition. In that situation, [the] Special Marriage Act is the only way out,” the lawyer says. This is marriage through registration, not a registration of marriage.”
The lawyer explains that after the application, there will be notices issued. He says, “After that thirty days if no objections arise, sign that register.” He says then they will be “legally married.” That is the only way for them to marry without involving the temple — as per the astrologists’ advice. Jenny says, “Let’s file the application today.” And while Sumit expresses his hesitation, they both sign the application and give it to the lawyer to file.
Sumit puts a stop to the application for marriage to Jenny
Sumit talks to his friend, Neeraj, about his current situation. He tells his friend that they have the green light from both his parents and the astrologer. So now that no more obstacles are standing in the way, the reality is that he’s nervous about marrying Jenny.
Sumit tells his friend, “The past experience of marriage, like my divorce, all the fighting. Cost a lot of money and all of the trauma.” His friend reminds him that he’s been trying to marry Jenny for the last nine years. He tells him that he and Jenny should get married “straight away.”
Sumit admits to Neeraj, “We went to the lawyer, marriage lawyer, he gave us information about the Special Marriage Act, and we fill out the form for the marriage.” Sumit revealed, “When we [were] done with the meeting at night, I just call [the] lawyer. I ask him to hold, like, don’t file for the marriage.” Jenny has no idea he put a stop to the filing.
Sumit is scared of getting married
“We fight for this for nine years, but when the actual time come; now I’m scared of marrying,” Sumit tells the cameras. He explains to Jenny, “I feel like I’m nervous because the time which I spent in my last marriage. And the time I spent fighting for divorce was very bad. It was very hard for me.”
Jenny says that she understands why Sumit may feel scared. She said, “I understand his fear. I know how traumatic Sumit’s first marriage and divorce was.” Jenny says, “It’s only natural that Sumit might feel some anxiety, some fears about getting married again.”
Will Sumit ever marry Jenny? Many 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way fans think that Sumit knows he can’t get out of this situation. Fans will have to keep watching season 3 to find out if Sumit and Jenny will end up married.
