Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans just can’t seem to get away from the past actions of her husband, David Eason. Evans was set to do a new podcast with 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Deavan Clegg and several other influencers but after Clegg found out about Evans’ past, she told producers that she could not work with the mom of three and Evans was fired.

Jenelle Evans lost custody of her kids

The reason fans are so against anyone working with Evans has to do with her continued association with Eason. In 2019, Evans lost custody of her children after Eason shot a dog in front of them. She was also fired from Teen Mom 2 for the incident. Initially, following the shooting, Evans left Eason. But eventually, she went back to him, much to the dismay and concern of fans.

Jenelle Evans and Deavan Clegg’s podcast

According to Clegg, she and Evans had been in contact before the idea for the Girl S#!t podcast came to fruition.

“Jenelle actually reached out to me roughly two years ago when I first was on 90 Day Fiancé, just to kind of be a friend,” Clegg told In Touch. “She knows how tough the reality world can be and just kind of prepared me for it in the sense and what to expect when it comes to reality TV. We kept in touch here and there throughout the years and she messaged me about the project and I was like, ‘It sounds like so much fun. I think it’s a wonderful idea.’”

Evans told the outlet that she was involved with the podcast from early on and even had a hand in picking out some of the other co-hosts.

“They’re really excited to jump on board and I really connect with all of them,” Evans told the outlet of her co-hosts. “I was involved with the casting process. So I reached out [to] the girls to who I thought deserved it and who also like, are really relatable and down to earth.”

Was Jenelle fired?

After rumors started floating around that Evans was fired from the podcast due to the other women not wanting to work with her, she uploaded a  video to Instagram, denying being let go.

Good morning everybody, I hope you’re doing great. So there’s a lot of rumors that I woke up to saying that Deavan got me fired from this thing when I’m her producer and I actually hand chose Deavan to join the cast. So, with that being said, I am not fired. And we don’t know what’s going to be happening with the podcast right now. But I do know as soon as I get home I have all the equipment to set up mine. So we’ll get something going because I know you guys want to hear from me. And thanks for your support, and I love you guys. You’ll hear from me soon.

Later, Clegg gave a interview with The Sun, denying that Evans was ever a producer.

“That’s not true… She was never a producer when I signed on,” Clegg said. “She said she knew someone working on a big project and said jump on a zoom call if you want to be involved.”

“I went to the meeting and there were several other girls,” Clegg continued. “She didn’t hire me and she was never my producer… There were several girls and me and Jenelle were just part of the cast like other girls.”

After Clegg found out about Evans’ past, she reportedly told the podcast producers that she couldn’t work with her.

“I told the owner I would not be involved in a project that is working with someone with these allegations,” she said. “It’s everything I’m against.”

“As far as I know, she’s been fired,” she added.

Clegg and Evans’ co-star Gabrielle Egan also told the outlet that Evans was let go.

“I was told Jenelle was being let go from the production because of new information that was discovered about her past and a lot of the cast was uncomfortable working with her,” Egan told the outlet.

“Since posting with Jenelle, a lot of us have lost followers, received a lot of hate for even being associated with her,” she continued. “From what I know, Jenelle is no longer associated with Girl S#!t.”
