’90 Day Fiancé’ Star Karine Martins Denies Assaulting Paul Staehle, Suggests ‘He Put My Hands to His Neck’
Former 90 Day Fiancé stars Paul Staehle and Karine Martins are facing yet another challenging moment in their marriage. A video that seems to show Karine physically abusing Paul was recently leaked. And now, in her defense, Karine is claiming that the video doesn’t tell the whole story.
’90 Day Fiancé’ star Karine Martins shared a message suggesting she wants a divorce
90 Day Fiancé chronicled Paul and Karine’s K-1 visa journey and marriage over multiple seasons. The couple, who shares two young sons, Pierre and Ethan, have had their fair share of relationship issues. But in recent weeks, things seemed to have gotten worse. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Karine suggested she was fed up with her marriage and seeking a divorce in a now-deleted Instagram post.
“Do you know when you’ve tried everything? And when I say everything, it’s everything you can imagine and then some,” Karine wrote on Instagram. “The night before I spent awake and reflecting on everything I’ve been through and many things, it was for the love of my children and it will always be for them and that will never change.”
“I woke up determined, asked for a divorce, that’s right, divorce,” she revealed. “[Now] what will happen to me, I don’t know but God knows. At the moment, I just want the lap of my family and especially my mother, to go back to my house and start my life over.”
A video of the ’90 Day Fiancé’ couple fighting was leaked online
A video, which seems to be shot by a home surveillance camera, was leaked online and shared on YouTube. In the 10-second clip, Karine walks up to Paul, who is sitting on a couch with their young son Pierre nearby. Karine then grabs Paul by the hair and it appears as if she places her hands on his neck before the video cuts out.
Since the video surfaced, Paul left Karine and has his parents watching their sons. In his Instagram stories, the 90 Day Fiancé star shared pictures of his mom and dad with Pierre and Ethan and thanked them for taking the time out to help.
Recently, Paul shared a series of links to pages about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. And he also posted messages suggesting he’s leaving Karine on her own in their house.
Karine denies assaulting Paul
In a recent Instagram story, Karine responded to the leaked video and suggested that it was edited to make her look like an abuser. And she noted that there is no footage of what happened before and after.
“I mean that video is clipped, and there’s a lot in there,” Karine wrote. “I didn’t touch Paul’s neck but my hair covers it when he pulls my hand. My children are not with me. I am a great mother. So much has happened, and I was prevented from coming to talk about that video. I don’t want to expose my children, I love them so much, but we are suffering.”
“I did not choke him,” she added in a separate Instagram story. “He put my hands to his neck. You don’t see the whole video.”
It isn’t the first time Paul and Karine openly shared their domestic challenges online. But for the sake of their two young children, 90 Day Fiancé fans hope the couple can work things out amicably.
