Michael’s troubled and turbulent relationship with Angela has been a major focus of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 8. Many fans have criticized Angela’s treatment of her Nigerian husband, including her aggressive and hostile behavior during the show’s currently airing tell-all special.

Angela’s repeated meltdowns, combined with the news that Michael had fled his wife’s home shortly after finally arriving in the U.S., apparently led to the rumors that he planned to sue both her and the network.

In a post shared to his Instagram Story on August 6, Michael denied that he was taking legal action against TLC.

“It has come to my attention that there are false rumors circulating online that I have initiated legal action against TLC and someone,” he wrote. “I want to set the record straight: I have not sued anyone. These rumors are entirely incorrect and unfounded.”

Michael went on to urge people to not share misinformation online, particularly if it can “mislead the public and harm reputations.”

The ‘90 Day Fiancé’ star has said he was ‘scared’ of Angela

Michael is not suing Angela. But he doesn’t dispute that their relationship broke down shortly after he arrived in the United States in December 2023.

Michael and Angela had been fighting for years to get him a U.S. visa. But Michael says that when he finally arrived in America, Angela didn’t welcome him with open arms. By February 2024, reports began to circulate that he’d fled his wife’s home.

In a recent interview with ET (via Facebook), Michael addressed what went down between him and Angela and why he decided to bail on the marriage.

“The reason why I left Angie’s house is because, I mean, it’s very, very sad you know. I feel like an unwanted guest,” the reality star said. “I wasn’t treated like I’m her husband, you know. I was treated like I’m just a nobody.”

Michael also said that Angela’s angry tirades became too much to handle. He added that they fought every day.

“For me to have left, it had gotten to the point where I couldn’t just bear it anymore,” he said.

Some 90 Day viewers have wondered if Michael alway intended to ditch Angela after he moved to the U.S. He said that wasn’t the case. He also said he wasn’t cheating on his wife.

“I never planned anything,” he said. “I don’t have any woman. The only woman I had was Angie.”

Unfortunately, Michael says he was treated “badly” by Angela. At times, her volatile behavior frightened him.

“To be honest, I was scared,” he said. “Sometimes, when she’s very upset, you know, she made me feel scared.”
