‘90 Day Fiancé’: Sumit Singh Reveals Details of First Date With Jenny Slatten at McDonald’s
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way couple, Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh’s love story began in a McDonald’s in an Indian mall. Here’s what we know about their romantic first date over fries and Coke.
Jenny came to India to visit Sumit in 2013
Their love story began when Sumit started catfishing Jenny with a photo of a young, strong, white man named Michael Jones. He came clean to her about his true identity, and the two continued their relationship. In 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Jenny gave up everything to be with Sumit in India. In the first season, they acted as though this trip was their first time meeting each other. However, in reality, it was their second meeting.
Jenny revealed in The Other Way Season 2 that she had gone to India for the first time in 2013. She stayed with Sumit’s family in their home. She said, “I was in India. I lived with his family for four months.” Sumit’s parents even confirmed that Jenny came to India in 2013.
Sumit and Jenny’s first date was at Mcdonalds
Sumit and Jenny played a couple’s game on Us Weekly, where they revealed where they had their first date. They said it was at a McDonald’s in a mall in India. Jenny recalled, “We just sat at a table, and he ordered me some food.” She says that he ordered her a “chicken burger” because they don’t eat beef there, complete with french fries and a coke.
Jenny recalled, “Then a bunch of school kids came in and disturbed us.” Sumit explained the reasoning behind going to the mall. He said that he wanted to show Jenny “some nice place of India.” He thought the mall was “one of the coolest things for us” at the time. Going to the mall was his way of wanting to prove to Jenny that India is “also very cool.”
Sumit and Jenny’s ’90 Day Fiancé’ journey
In The Other Way Season 1, Jenny sold all of her belongings to move to India. While there, she found out that Sumit was married to a woman through an arranged marriage. Sumit was taken away by his family, and she was left alone in their apartment. She finally returned to the United States but soon realized she had nothing to return to.
In season 2, Sumit filed for his divorce, and Jenny planned her trip back to India to be with him. However, Sumit’s family isn’t happy about Sumit wanting to get married to Jenny. They refused to accept her because she is 30 years older than Sumit. Still, the two are engaged.
Now, in The Other Way Season 3, Jenny has been trying to figure out how to stay in India long term as Sumit refuses to marry her without his family’s blessing. Now, their last chance at getting acceptance, Sumit’s parents have moved into their home to teach Jenny how to be a traditional Indian housewife. If she can prove that she is a good housewife and can make Sumit happy, maybe Jenny will finally gain Sumit’s family’s acceptance.
Sumit and Jenny have gone a long way since their first date at a Mcdonald’s in 2013. Will Jenny and Sumit marry before her visa expires? Fans will have to keep watching 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 3 to find out how their relationship plays out.
