’90 Day Fiancé’: Tania Maduro Asked Friends and Family to Pay for ‘Herbal Intensive’ Retreat to Costa Rica
Fans of 90 Day Fiancé would be hard-pressed to forget the time Tania Maduro bailed on Syngin Colchester to go to Costa Rica. Not only were they shocked that she decided to spend 30 days of his 90-day visa in another country without him, but some were surprised when they learned she’d gone to allegedly study herbalism. What’s more, it seems as if Maduro reached out to friends and family to help fund her costly trip — which also seemed to involve plenty of partying without Syngin Colchester.
Why Tania Maduro left Syngin Colchester for Costa Rica
Tania Maduro brought Syngin Colchester over to the U.S. on a 90-day visa, and then spent 30 days of that time in Costa Rica. Syngin Colchester was understandably upset with his 90 Day Fiancé co-star’s decision.
At the time, he said, “I’m literally around everything that is yours. I’m all alone in the backwoods of America, you know…So I am not at all looking forward to staying here by myself. I kind of feel lost and it sucks.”
While Maduro was away, it seemed as if she enjoyed flirting with men in Costa Rica. She told producers, “I like to flirt, and I like to talk to other guys that I think are cute. I can’t really do anything more than look. But I can still look.”
It seems Tania Maduro attended the Wild Ginger Herbal Center and took a “Tropical Herbal Medicine Apprenticeship” there.
A course description posted on the Center’s website informs prospective students that they will study a variety of topics, including pseudosciences like astrology. It reads, “Our immersion program focuses on providing a strong foundation in folk herbal medicine, and includes an engaging balance between field studies to local indigenous and traditional herbalists and farms, practical and theoretical classes at our center, and time spent exploring plants with amazing teachers who have dedicated their lives to plant medicine both local from Costa Rica as well as those who have immigrated here.”
Tania Maduro asked friends and family for help
Naturally, the 90 Day Fiancé star’s course didn’t come cheap. In fact, it seems it was far too expensive for Tania Maduro to handle alone.
According to Soap Dirt, she took to Facebook to advertise her plight to her friends and family, asking them for financial assistance in order to attend the Costa Rican retreat.
In the image posted by Soap Dirt, Maduro allegedly wrote, “It’s my birthday y’all! And the charitable foundation I’m raising funds for- is myself and some healing! But anything I ever do, I always bring back to the community- so it’s really a family affair!”
Maduro added, “My next journey is a monthlong herbal intensive in Costa Rica. The cost, including a BIPOC discount, is $2,488 including housing and 5 days a week meals. Flight is also extra. Please donate if you’re able and share, share, share. Thank you so much and I can’t wait to share what I learn!”
Given how Tania Maduro had been riding Syngin Colchester about finding work, and the state of the shed he was living in at her house, it surprised many fans that Maduro was willing to shell out so much cash for a trip to Costa Rica.
Are they appearing on a new ‘90 Day Fiancé’ season?
Meanwhile, to the chagrin of some 90 Day Fiancé fans, it seems as if Tania Maduro and Syngin Colchester will be returning for another season of the show.
Soap Dirt has uncovered the couple’s marriage certificate, and recently a fan on Reddit claims that an acquaintance spotted the two filming with TLC.
The Redditor wrote, “My wife’s boss was out to dinner in Colchester, CT last night and there was a camera crew there with Tania and Syngin. Apparently Tania was in a car accident recently and was in a walking boot. She was not wearing the pink shirt. She told my wife’s boss that the episode will air in the summer. She didn’t talk to Syngin at all. She said Tania yelled at him the entire time and they reshot the scene a bunch of times. Nothing groundbreaking, but last I heard, he was back in South Africa.”
