’90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’ stars Armando and Kenneth share their international love story

Kenneth and Armando are the first male gay couple on 90 Day Fiancé, and on Season 2 of The Other Way, they detail how they met on an online support group for single gay fathers. Kenneth, who is 26 years older than Armando, has four children and one grandchild and works as a property manager in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Armando runs a pet care facility in San Felipe, Mexico, where he lives with his parents, sister, and six-year-old daughter.

After three years of being together long-distance, Kenneth and Armando decided to move in together in Mexico. On the show, Kenneth reveals that he is planning to propose to Armando and hopes to get married.

Armando’s past is full of tragedy

On 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Armando opens up about his past and how he’s had to hide his sexuality from his conservative family. He reveals that he married his daughter Hannah’s mother at a young age, but eventually came out to her and parents.

“Even though at a very young age I knew I was gay, given the macho culture I was from and living in Mexico, I wanted to have a relationship with a woman, and I thought this was the only way that possibly these feelings would go away and I could be a man,” Armando explains on the show. “After we had been married for about eight years I decided to tell Hannah’s mother that I was gay. When I first told her she was kind of lost and she definitely cried about it.”

Armando says that after he told his wife, she called his parents and told them. His mother’s tears and denial pushed Armando back into the closet, and he hasn’t talked to his family about it since.

But he says that after coming out to his wife, they eventually separated. And tragically, just months after their split, Armando tearfully reveals that she died in a car crash.

“Unfortunately, about two or three months after we had separated, she passed away in an accident,” he says on the show. “Her car actually flipped out of the road and she died on the scene. She was my best friend so that was very hard.”

The ’90 Day Fiancé’ star reveals he fought with his wife the day she died

In a recent Instagram post, Armando revealed details about his wife’s crash and the events that led up to it. He suggested that he was posting the information to clear up any confusion about her death.

“My then-wife and I had been separated for a few months before her passing for a number of reasons, one of which was anger issues she was working on,” Armando wrote in his Instagram story. “During our separation, we were working on rebuilding our friendship again.”

He wrote that during their divorce proceedings, on the day of her accident, he had a disagreement with his ex about finances. He said he left the situation, not knowing that she would follow behind him in her car.

“I was driving down the highway and I was shocked when I was suddenly struck from behind and then was hit again,” Armando revealed. “As I continued down the highway, I then realized it was my ex-wife, and before I knew it, she lost control of her vehicle and passed away on the scene.”

Noting that his ex was pregnant at the time of the accident, Armando detailed how traumatic this loss was for him, his daughter, and their family. He said he decided to post the message because he was getting numerous questions and wanted to clarify any unwarranted speculation.

“The reason I’m putting this out is because there are news articles out there from the time of the accident corroborating what I’m saying,” he continued. “She was a wonderful person and mother.”
