Jenny Slatten and her beau, Sumit, are back for season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Last season, after discovering he was already married, Jenny forgave Sumit and is now going back to India to be with him. But despite their hiccups, the couple seems to be going strong, and it’s probably because they’ve been together for nearly a decade.

On the last season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Jenny wraps up her Palm Springs life to move to India. But Sumit, a Delhi native who initially catfished Jenny online, never revealed that he was married. 

The couple lived together happily for five months until Sumit’s family, wife, and in-laws show up at their apartment and take Sumit away. When Jenny finally confronts Sumit about his secret wife, he admits that he was pressured into an unhappy arranged marriage by his family. 

Jenny forgives Sumit, and he promises to get a divorce. This season, Jenny is heading back to India again, with the assumption that Sumit is finally ready to move on from his past life and family pressures.

After cashing out on her social security benefits early, Jenny flies back to India to be with Sumit on Season 2, Episode 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Sumit has moved into house in a remote area outside of Delhi where the cost of living much lower. When Jenny asks him why they downgraded from such a nice apartment, Sumit admits that he’s trying to save money to pay for his $20,000 divorce process.

And after all that’s happened, Jenny remains patient. When Sumit brings her to the new apartment, Jenny admits that she’s been able to forgive him because she’s grown to understand him and his culture.

“Sumit and I, our relationship has always been Sumit and I,” Jenny said in a recent press interview, according to E! News. “If you understand his culture, you’ll understand why what happened to him happened to him, and I understand. I still love him all the same — you need to understand his culture and then you’ll understand.”

After seeing how much Sumit has lied to Jenny since the beginning of their relationship, some viewers can’t understand why she still wants to be with him. But in her press interview,  the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star revealed that she forgave him because he was forced into his marriage.

“Sumit and I are not done with each other, said Jenny. “We’re still in a relationship. He was married, the marriage wasn’t his choice. He didn’t want to be married.”

Jenny also noted that they’re going strong because they’ve been in a relationship for nearly a decade.

“We’re just not done with each other,” Jenny added. “We’re in this relationship, going on 9 years. We’ve invested a lot into this relationship, and we love each other — if people don’t like it then that’s the way it is.”
