’90 Day Fiancé’: Tigerlily Addresses Why She Signed Up for the Show, Baby Rumors, and More in AMA
Tigerlily wasn’t looking for reality TV fame when she and her then-fiancé Adnan were cast on 90 Day Fiancé. In fact, the 41-year-old from Texas wasn’t even familiar with the popular TLC series until two of her friends told her that her and Adnan’s love story was like those featured on their show, she said in a recent social media update.
Tigerlily had never heard of ‘90 Day Fiancé’
Tigerlily’s and Adnan’s romance is featured in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 7. The divorced mom and handwriting expert fell for Adnan, a 22-year-old Jordanian model, after they connected on Instagram. Despite a two-decade age gap, the pair decided to marry just a few months after they met. Tigerlily flew to Jordan to meet her husband-to-be for the first time face-to-face. Days later, they said “I do” in a lavish ceremony before she returned home to the U.S.
Though Tigerlily and Adnan’s relationship seems tailor-made for 90 Day Fiancé, she recently told her followers that it’s definitely not a made-for-TV romance.
“I actually don’t watch TV and had never seen any of the 90 Day shows or even heard of it,” she wrote in a Nov. 17 post to her Instagram Story. It wasn’t until she asked her trusted friends and hair stylists if they would travel to Jordan with her for the wedding that she began thinking about reality TV.
“They said my life sounds just like 90 Day Fiancé,” Tigerlily wrote as part of the AMA.
Tigerlily’s friends were ‘bugging’ her to apply for the TLC show
Even though Tigerlily’s friends were urging her how to apply for the show, she didn’t follow through. But they wouldn’t let up.
“They kept on and on and on and on,” she recalled. “So finally I did it so they would [shut up].”
Now, she’s thankful for their persistence.
“I am glad they kept bugging me to do it [because] we all know I live in the moment and just like to have fun. I don’t care about money or fame, I just do the show for fun,” she added.
‘90 Day Fiancé’ addresses pregnancy rumors, hints she might convert to Islam
In her AMA, Tigerlily also addressed a number of other fan questions, including whether she’d ever move to Jordan to be with Adnan and if she’s open to converting to Islam. (Adnan is a devout Muslim.)
Leaving the U.S. is not an option, Tigerlily said. “I have to live in the U.S. [because] that’s where my children need to be,” she said. But converting may be on the table, she hinted.
“Stay tuned!” she replied when someone asked if she wouldn’t eventually embrace Adnan’s faith.
Tigerlily’s NDA prevents her from revealing too much about the current status of her and Adnan’s relationship. But when asked about reports that she and Adnan had already split, or that they’d had a baby, she told people not to take everything they see online at face value.
“Lots of people like to make things up,” she said.
