‘90 Day Fiancé’ Update: Are Corey Rathgeber and Evelin Villegas Still Together in 2022?
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way stars Corey Rathgeber and his wife, Evelin Villegas give a life update on 90 Day Diaries Season 4. As fans know, this 90 Day Fiancé couple has had many ups and downs in their relationship. So are they still together? Here’s what we know.
Corey and Evelin’s ’90 Day Fiancé’ journey
TLC audiences were first introduced to Corey and Evelin when their story was shown on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 1. Evelin was heading home to Engabao, Ecuador after spending some time in Washington with Corey and his family. She told Corey that if he wanted to be with her, he would have to move to her home country. Corey then sold his car and moved to Ecuador to be with Evelin. The pair got engaged, despite Evelin’s uncertainty.
On The Other Way Season 3, Corey and Evelin returned, They revealed that they broke up before getting stuck together in Ecuador during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Evelin found out about Corey’s fling in Peru with a Peruvian woman named Jenny. Corey claimed they were on a break, while Evelin claimed that they weren’t.
However, despite Corey’s fling with Jenny, Evelin decides to forgive Corey and they end up married. However, fans find out that they were actually married on paper nearly a year ahead of their marriage ceremony. During the tell-all, Evelin finds out that Corey had met with Jenny behind her back during the filming of season 3.
Are Corey and Evelin still together in 2022?
On the June 6 episode of 90 Day Diaries, Corey and Evelin give fans an update on their relationship status. Corey and Evelin reveal that they’re still together, despite all of the hurdles they’ve had to face. Evelin tells the cameras, “After two months of traveling and a lot of couples therapy, we were able to reconnect and be on the same page about saving our marriage.”
Life in Ecuador is wonderful for this couple. Corey and Evelin, who own a beachside bar, are currently opening a restaurant that Evelin’s sisters and family will run. However, Corey was unable to renew his residency visa and will have to leave the country soon.
Evelin decides she will go to America with Corey
Corey is currently on a tourist visa in Ecuador. In five months, he will have to return to the United States. The 90 Day Fiancé star explained that he will have to stay in the US for six months before he can come back to Ecuador. Check out the Instagram clip below:
Corey asked Evelin to come with him to Washington so that the distance won’t cause more strain on their already fragile relationship. He tells the cameras, “I truely believe that if we have to be separated for six months, it will result in divorce.”
However, if Evelin decides to go to the US on a spousal visa, she will have to spend three years in the country before she’s able to fly back home to Ecuador. While Evelin was unsure if she would be able to handle life on Corey’s family compound in Washington, she decides that she will do it for the sake of their marriage.
The last time Evelin was on the compound with Corey, she had a very difficult time. It will be interesting to see if they will be able to make it through the three years in the US or not.
