’90 Day Fiancé’: What Happens When Ariela and Biniyam Go Visit a Hospital in Ethiopia?
On 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Ariela Danielle is back in Ethiopia with her mother, Janice. Ariela plans to stay in Ethiopia and live a happy life with Biniyam Shibre. They’re having a child together, and their future looks bright. However, there are some obstacles in the way, including living conditions and what the hospital is like where Ariela could potentially give birth in just a few months.
Ariela, Biniyam, and Janice go visit a local hospital
Ariela is from Princeton, New Jersey, and she has a close-knit family around her. Her mother in particular is concerned, since she is a nurse and she wants the best for her daughter. She plans to make sure the hospital is up to her standards and is ready for anything unexpected that might happen with the pregnancy.
Ariela tells the cameras that she wants to stay in Ethiopia with Biniyam, but it’s also important for her to be in a safe environment to deliver her baby. “If we don’t like this hospital, my mom is going to want me to deliver in the U.S., and Biniyam can’t be there. I’m just very nervous,” Ariela tells the cameras. Biniyam is nervous as well, and he doesn’t want Ariela to go back to the United States.
Do they like the hospital?
Ariela was pretty sure the whole visit wasn’t going to go well, but surprisingly, it does. They are taken on a tour of the facility. Janice is looking around everywhere to make sure the place is clean, well-staffed, and stocked with supplies. Thankfully, she is pleasantly surprised with the equipment on hand, especially when she sees the neonatal intensive care unit.
Janice asks about cesarean section procedures, and how close the surgical room is. She’s tagging all the bases so she knows things are up to her standards for her daughter’s impending delivery. The nurse explains the procedures, and what supplies they have on hand.
Ariela trusts her mother to ask the right questions, and Janice seems to really like everything so far. Ariela says she can see herself giving birth in the hospital they visited, which has to be a huge relief for Biniyam to hear.
Why Janice has ‘mixed emotions’
“I didn’t know what to expect when I came here, but seeing what you do and how you do it, makes me feel that Ari is going to have really good care,” Janice tells everyone who provided them with information at the hospital.
“Even though the hospital passed my test, I have mixed emotions because if it was bad, maybe I could take her home,” Janice tells the cameras while seated next to her daughter.
It’s a nice change of pace for Biniyam, considering how the trip has already gone so far. Ariela recently went to see her temporary apartment while their new place is getting finished, and both places left a lot to be desired for Ariela and her mother, so the hospital had a lot riding on it.
We’ll see how everything else plays out for Ariela and Biniyam as they carve out a new life together in Ethiopia.
