’90 Day Fiance’: What Went Wrong in Big Ed Brown’s First Marriage?

Big Ed Brown and Rose Vega’s relationship crashed and burned this season of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days. Brown made a couple of mistakes during his time with Vega that just made the relationship unsalvagable. But this isn’t the first time that Brown has majorly messed up in a relationship. In fact, the deterioration of his marriage to his ex-wife was also his fault.

What happened between Big Ed Brown and Rose Vega?

Brown went into his relationship with Vega lying about his height.

“So, I wasn’t completely honest with Rose about [my height] and a couple of other things,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s never a good idea to lie. You have to be honest and I’m learning that even if you have strong feelings for someone, it’s better to get it out in the open. If not, it’s gonna come back and bite you.

“I don’t think I could’ve made a better fool of myself,” he continued. “When you’re in love, you’re not thinking. You’re not thinking about anybody else but yourself and the person you’re in love with.”

As he hadn’t dated anyone in almost three decades before Vega, he was a bit rusty, but that still didn’t make up for everything that he did to her. First, he tried to make her take an STD test, then he asked her to shave her legs, and later he told her her breath stank and bought her mouthwash.

But the final straw came when he told her that he didn’t want kids, though Vega had expressed openly her desire for two more.

“I know who [you are]. I think,” she said to him. “First [you] lied to me about [your] height. Right? Then, you want to give me an STD test right? And about mouthwash, why you tell me? You know I [am] sick, I have [an] ulcer.”

“I’m disappointed because you always embarrassed me,” she continued. “I think [you] don’t love me. I’m done.”

Brown recently confirmed the breakup to Entertainment Tonight.

“We have parted ways, with a heavy heart,” he said. “The breakup is so fresh that I’m just going to keep an open mind.

“We wanted different things. Rose wanted what she wanted, and I wanted what I wanted,” he continued. “We just weren’t in alignment.”

What ended Big Ed’s relationship with his wife?

Brown did not have the happiest of marriages to his ex-wife, Sandra Heckman. According to ScreenRant, the two were only married for two years. Heckman filed for divorce after Brown cheated on her. She is now remarried and lives in Las Vegas.

What is Big Ed up to now?

These days, Brown is focusing on recording Cameos for fans and making the most of his fame on social media. He has no ill will toward Vega.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been in a relationship, I wasn’t trying to be offensive in any way and never have I said anything negative nor will I ever about Rose,” he told ET. “I have respect for her.”

And since he’s been on the market, he’s received over 30 marriage proposals.
