Charli XCX went from crashing her car into a bridge to crushing the music charts with 2022’s Crash and its corresponding “deluxe” album. Released only a few days after the original album, Crash (Deluxe) features four new songs, written and produced in less than a week with the help of A. G. Cook, George Daniel, and Lotus IV.

Thanks to her “femme fatale powers and a multitude of dark spells and curses,” Charli XCX released her highly anticipated album Crash. The collection featured artists Rina Sawayama, Christine and the Queens, and Caroline Polachek.

It also includes already released singles “Good Ones” and “Baby.” As the fifth and final album of her Atlantic Record deal, Charli XCX partnered with producers like A. G. Cook and George Daniel to create Crash. She even has plans to “explore” music more with these longtime collaborators.

“My record deal is up — I don’t know where I’m going, what I’m doing,” Charli XCX said during an interview with NPR. “That really can affect a lot of things as well. But I think I need to go back into the studio for a while and explore with people who I’ve worked with for a long time, whether that be Ariel Rechtshaid or A.G. [Cook]. I need to just be able to be free for a while with them.”

Charli XCX released 4 new tracks on ‘Crash (Deluxe)’ thanks to help from ‘the boys’

As a self-proclaimed workaholic, about a week after the release of Crash, Charli XCX announced the deluxe version of her album. She went on Instagram to make the announcement, also sharing a glimpse at her set and costumes for the Crash tour.

“And also, news on the deluxe — it’s coming tomorrow,” Charli XCX said after stepping outside of her rehearsal space. “You guys are like ‘oh, she’s just gonna do remixes.’ That’s not true. That is not true.”

The artist debuted four new songs to be exact. That’s “Selfish Girl,” “How Can I Not Know What I Need Right Now,” “Sorry If I Hurt You,” and “What You Think About Me.” She created these songs in less than a week with help from her friends/fellow musicians.

“Shout out to the boys for helping me whip up four bops in under a week,” Charli XCX wrote on her Instagram story, also sharing the Crash (Deluxe) album cover. She also tagged her three collaborators, A. G. Cook, George Daniel, and Lotus IV, who appeared as producers for the four new tracks.
