ABC finally renewed A Million Little Things for a season 5 after many heartfelt requests from fans on social media. Creator DJ Nash continues to executive produce the drama featuring David Giuntoli, Grace Park, Romany Malco, Christina Moses, Allison Miller, James Roday Rodriguez, Stéphanie Szostak, Tristan Byon, and Lizzy Greene. However, season 5 might be the final chapter for the tight-knit friend group.
ABC renewed ‘A Million Little Things’ for season 5
On May 13, 2022, ABC announced the renewal of A Million Little Things for season 5 ahead of the season 4 finale on May 18. The series follows a group of friends after one friend unexpectedly dies by suicide. They help each other cope and agree to begin living their life to the fullest.
Is ‘A Million Little Things’ Season 5 the last season?
ABC did not share whether A Million Little Things Season 5 is the drama’s final chapter. However, DJ Nash publicly told fans that he has a specific way he wants the series to end. With the uncertainty surrounding the season 5 renewal, Nash probably concludes next year with the finale to write the ending he wants.
Deadline also speculated that season 5 could be the last chapter of the series.
Who is returning to the cast for ‘A Million Little Things’ Season 5?
In A Million Little Things Season 5, David Giuntoli returns as Eddie Saville, Grace Park returns as Katherine Kim, and Tristan Byon continues to play Theo. Romany Malco portrays Rome Howard, and Christina Moses plays his wife, Regina. Allison Miller returns as Maggie Bloom and James Roday Rodriguez as Gary Mendez. Lizzy Green returns as Sophie Dixon; however, it’s not evident whether Stéphanie Szostak will return as Delilah.
When A Million Little Things Season 4 premiered, viewers discovered that Stephanie Szostak’s character, Delilah, had to leave to travel back to France. Danny Dixon (Chance Hurstfield) went with her but returned for a few episodes. Viewers did not see Delilah after the first episode of season 4, so she probably won’t return to the show.
Melora Hardin will return as Maggie’s Mom, Patricia Bloom
The only guest star slated to return for A Million Little Things Season 5 is Melora Hardin as Patricia Bloom. In an interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet, she teased the future of Maggie and Patricia’s relationship.
“I can tell you that there’s probably going to be some interesting connection between them,” Hardin began. “Next year, next season, if they get another season, there’s going to be some nice resolutions, in some ways.”
Other guest stars and recurring characters that could return for season 5 include Cameron Esposito as Greta Strobe, Sam Pancake as Carter French, Adam Swain as Tyrell, Romy Rosemont as Shelly, Mario Van Peebles as Ronald, and Erin Karpluk as Anna Benoit.
A Million Little Things Season 4 airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC for the 2021-2022 season.
