‘A Million Little Things’ Season 4 Episode 10, ‘Surprise’ Recap — Spoilers Abound
In the A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 10 recap of “Surprise,” fans watch the epic lengths the friend group goes to surprise Maggie Bloom (Allison Miller) for her 30th birthday. Eddie Saville (David Giuntoli) invites a date to the party. However, when Katherine Kim (Grace Park) asks her new love interest, Greta Strobe (Cameron Esposito), to the party, she finds some shocking news.

‘A Million Little Things’ Season 4 Episode 10: Maggie’s 30th Surprise Party
Camden (Ryan Hansen) surprises Maggie with breakfast in bed for her 30th birthday, but she’s not into it. She informs him that he should cancel their dinner that evening for her birthday. Her co-workers spend the day getting her a makeover for a fake photoshoot. However, the only person that can get her to go out for a birthday drink is Gary Mendez (James Roday Rodriguez).
Gary and Maggie finally enter the elevator for the moment that viewers watched in the A Million Little Things Season 4 midseason promo. Gary is the one who stops the elevator to tell her about the surprise party. He gives her a pep talk about “showing up for the rest of your life.” It’s that moment when she presses the elevator button to go to the party, not kiss Gary as many fans had hoped.
Instead, Gary watches Maggie and Cam happily walk around the party together all night, laughing happily. When a montage from friends who couldn’t be there comes on, viewers see Maggie’s ex-boyfriend, Tom. He gives a touching speech about celebrating Maggie’s 30th. He’s happy the doctors were wrong. Danny Dixon (Chance Hurstfield) also makes an appearance in the montage but there’s still no sign of Delilah Dixon (Stephanie Szostak).
In the last few moments of the episode, Maggie finally does find Gary and kiss her in an elevator! Are Gary and Maggie getting back together? It’s anyone’s guess!
Anna confronts Gary about beating up Peter
In A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 10, Eddie asks Sophie Dixon (Lizzy Greene) if it’s OK to bring Anna (Erin Karpluk) to the 30th birthday party. She admits that she’s nervous about meeting his friends. Gary said it was OK that Eddie dated Anna, but Gary tried to avoid her. Anna runs into Gary and confronts him about beating up Peter (Andrew Leeds). However, she’s happy Gary hurt Peter and says, “your secret’s safe with me.”
Anna is more upset with Eddie for not telling her. She can’t be in another relationship where her significant other keeps things from her.
‘A Million Little Things’ Season 4 Episode 10: Rome tells Tyrell about his attempted suicide
Rome (Romany Malco) worries that his medication is not working correctly; however, his doctor insists he needs to give it a few more weeks. He apologizes to Regina (Christina Moses) for his irritability. Meanwhile, she tries to cheer him up at the exact moment that Tyrell (Adam Swain) shows up. While they are happy to see him, Rome has an outburst on the young man shortly after returning home.
Later, he admits to Tyrell that he tried to commit suicide. In response, the young man tells Rome they should lean on each other. It’s a sweet moment.
Meanwhile, Regina apologizes again to Valerie (Andrea Navedo) for what she did at their former workplace. Regina proposes they start a catering business together to make up for it.
‘A Million Little Things’ Season 4 Episode 10: Katherine’s love interest is married
Katherine (Grace Park) asks her new girlfriend to meet her friends at Maggie’s party. However, she finds out that her ex-best friend is married. At the party, Katherine admits to Eddie that the person she’s dating is married. Although Eddie refers to Katherine’s significant other as a man, she doesn’t correct him.
Later, Greta calls Katherine and explains the situation. Greta and her wife are separated and moving to get a divorce. She shows up at the party and the two hook up in the coat closet. However, Eddie sees the couple. What will Eddie’s response be to Katherine and Greta’s relationship?
