Why was Delilah not in ‘A Million Little Things’ Season 3?

Delilah spent most of A Million Little Things Season 3 in France with her father, Lenny (Paul Guilfoyle). The trip with Lenny wasn’t supposed to take all season, but the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic swept the world while they were there. When the pair finally secured a flight home, Lenny fell and broke his hip. So, Delilah spent almost the entire season with her father while he recovered in France.

Stephanie Szostak wasn’t on A Million Little Things Season 3 because she lives in New York with her husband and two sons. However, the series films in Vancouver, Canada. She couldn’t travel back and forth like she typically does because of the quarantine period on either end of her trips due to the coronavirus. So, the writers came up with a reason for Delilah to be stuck in Europe. However, she will be back for the season finale and A Million Little Things Season 4.

What happened between Delilah and Miles on ‘A Million Little Things’?

Delilah and Miles met at a bar in A Million Little Things Season 2 Episode 16, “Change of Plans.” Maggie Bloom (Allison Miller) and Delilah went out together and began chatting with the EMT. At first, they thought he was into Maggie, but it turned out that Miles was interested in Delilah.

Delilah and Miles ended up kissing outside the bar, and then they went home together. In the next episode, Miles texted on the first anniversary of her husband, Jon Dixon’s (Ron Livingston) death. While Delilah spent the day ignoring Miles’ texts and calls, her husband made a surprise appearance at the end of the night. The widow had a dream that her late husband gave his blessing for Delilah to be happy and answer that call.

In the following episode, Delilah’s children expressed that they wanted their mom to be happy. Delilah and Miles went on a hike and out for coffee afterward. The A Million Little Things Season 2 Finale was the last time viewers saw Miles. He shared an embarrassing story with her on a date. Later, he supported Delilah by getting everyone sandwiches while they awaited the birth of Rome (Romany Malco) and Regina Howard’s (Christina Moses) soon-to-be-adopted daughter.

Did Delilah and Miles break up?

At the end of A Million Little Things Season 2, Delilah asked Miles, “Why me?” He is ten years younger than her, handsome, funny, and could be with anyone else. However, Miles admitted that he loves that Delilah is French, and she spent the whole day taking care of her friends.

However, when A Million Little Things Season 3 began, Delilah had second thoughts about Miles. As she was making her bed for a date night with him, she saw a picture of her and Jon. At first, she put it away, but later she canceled her date with Miles.

“I guess I wasn’t ready to have him here, in the house I shared with Dad,” Delilah told Sophie.

Later, Delilah put her relationship with Miles on hold.

“Totally understand. I’m here when you’re ready,” read a text from Miles.
