Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are headed for the Super Bowl. On Feb. 2 the dynamic quarterback and veteran tight end will battle the San Francisco 49ers. While they are surely keeping their diet clean until after the big game, that doesn’t mean they always eat super clean. In fact, a new McDonald’s ad just revealed their go-to orders at the company that is credited with inventing fast food.

Patrick Mahomes’ McDonald’s order is classic

The ad spot just released by McDonald’s shows the typical orders of some of the world’s most famous people. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are featured in the ads, as are Mahomes and Kelce. Mahomes’ typical McDonald’s order is pretty straightforward and all-American.

When the 24-year-old has a craving for something from the golden arches, he sticks to a cheeseburger, ten chicken nuggets, and French fries. Mahomes completes his order with a ton of ketchup packets. Mahomes has been pretty outspoken about his preference for ketchup. In fact, back in 2018, Heinz offered the rookie signal-caller a lifetime supply of ketchup if he could throw for exactly 57 touchdown passes. It didn’t happen, but that doesn’t matter. Apparently, Mahomes prefers Hunts Ketchup anyway.

What does Travis Kelce get when he stops in at McDonald’s

Kelce is apparently a massive fan of breakfast. The 30-year-old Ohio native likes breakfast so much that it is his primary focus on game days, and apparently, when he’s not playing, too. It makes sense that Kelce’s preference would be for breakfast foods. After all, he claims to be awake by 6:00 am, at the latest, every day.

If he’s fueling his day at McDonald’s, he goes for the McGriddle first. He follows that up with two sausages, egg and cheese McMuffins, and a hash brown. To wash it all down, Kelce reaches for coffee. Based on the tray in the commercial, it looks like Kelce takes his coffee black.

When they aren’t chowing down on McDonald’s, what do football players eat?

Tom Brady is famous for his ultra-restrictive diet, but not every football player eats like him. In fact, the diets of elite athletes are as varied as the diets of average citizens. Mahomes admits that he’s a picky eater, but that he’s been trying to expand his palette. According to the Kansas City Star, his girlfriend, Brittany Matthews, has helped him immensely with nutrition.

Matthews, who has been dating Mahomes since they were in high school, picked up and moved to Kansas City when Mahomes was drafted. Matthews, who is an athlete in her own respect, is currently a personal trainer. She keeps Mahomes’ diet clean, but it looks like he’s still allowed to indulge in his favorite food. What is that food? Believe it or not, it’s ketchup.

For Kelce, his game-day eating habits are very carb-focused. The all-star tight end told Men’s Journal that he always gets French toast at pregame meals with this team to get his blood sugar going. He noted that a lot of times, he’s playing before around 1 pm, so lunch might not happen. He’s also a massive fan of the Hilo gummies line.
