Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney’s romance began in 2011 according to E! Online, when they were introduced on the set of Lady Gaga’s music video “You and I.” Kinney, who starred in the video as Gaga’s love interest, was a notable star in his own right, and had a starring role in the hit TV series Chicago Fire.
“We had a good time. I think there was chemistry,” Kinney later recalled. “I remember it was a late shoot. We were shooting until 4 or 5 in the morning or something like that. We exchanged information. A few weeks went by and we kept in touch, and then that’s that.”
Not long after the video shoot, Kinney and Lady Gaga went public with their romance, sharing several steamy pictures to social media. Lady Gaga never missed out on the chance to give her boyfriend props, admitting that while it can be hard to share the spotlight with someone, Kinney wasn’t jealous of her successes.

The exact reason for their breakup has never been revealed — however, in a 2017 documentary, per Elle, Lady Gaga opened up about their split, saying that “my threshold for bullshit with men is just—I don’t have one anymore. In relationships, you have to move together.”

In the years since her split with Taylor Kinney, Lady Gaga has dated several men, including her agent, Christian Carino.
