‘A Week Away’: What Other Movies and Shows Has Star Bailee Madison Been In?
Bailee Madison has charmed viewers in her new Netflix film, A Week Away. The faith-based musical, featuring familiar songs from Amy Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Michael W. Smith, is a first for the streaming service. The 21-year-old Madison — who co-produced the movie — is a show business pro, having appeared in dozens of movies and TV shows since 2006.
Bailee Madison appeared in the movie ‘Bridge to Terabithia’
One of Madison’s first roles was in the 2007 movie Bridge to Terabithia. She won a Young Artist Award for her performance as May Belle, the younger sister of Josh Hutcherson’s character Jess. That same year, she appeared in episodes of House and CSI: NY, as well as the movie Saving Sarah Cain and the Nickelodeon movie The Last Day of Summer.
Over the next few years, Madison landed roles in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and the Natalie Portman movie Brothers. She appeared in Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark and played Jennifer Aniston’s daughter in Just Go With It.
She played Maxine Russo on ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’
In 2011, Madison appeared in multiple episodes of the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place. She played Maxine Russo, who was created after Alex (Selena Gomez) and Justin (David Henrie) accidentally turned Max (Jake T. Austin) into a girl.
From 2013 to 2014, she had a recurring role as the daughter of Bradley Whitford’s character on the ABC sitcom Trophy Wife, which was canceled after one season.
Bailee Madison in ‘Once Upon a Time,’ ‘The Fosters,’ and ‘Good Witch’
More recently, Madison played a younger version of Ginnifer Goodwin’s Snow White character in the drama Once Upon a Time, an experience she remembers fondly.
“That whole experience, every time I went on, it was the time of my life … to this day, [it’s] still one of my favorites,” she said during an appearance on the Just Between Us podcast in 2019.
Beginning in season 2, she played Sophia on the ABC Family drama The Fosters. Then, in 2015, she landed a role on the Hallmark Channel series Good Witch. For five seasons, she played Grace Russell, the daughter of “good witch” Cassie Nightingale (Catherine Bell). But in 2019, she decided to leave the show.
“They say life is like a beautiful book, and everyone’s story is unique to them,” she shared in a tweet announcing her departure from the show in July 2019. “As one chapter ends, a new one begins which is even more exciting and unexpected than the previous one … I couldn’t be more grateful for the new adventures ahead.”
While on Good Witch, Madison also had a starring role in the horror film The Strangers: Prey at Night. Since leaving the series, she’s appeared in the movie Love & Debt and A Week Away. According to her IMDb, her next role will be in the movie The Pool.
