Is Aaron Rodgers Planning to Have Kids With Shailene Woodley?
Many were shocked to find out Aaron Rodgers has moved on to a new relationship. He’s now engaged to Shailene Woodley, and he’s opened up about his plans for the future. But does that include kids?
Who is Aaron Rodgers engaged to?
The Green Bay Packers player has previously dated Danica Patrick. But they confirmed their relationship ended in 2020. So it was surprising to some fans that he’s now engaged to Woodley.
He revealed the news by thanking her in his acceptance speech for his third MVP award at the 10th Annual NFL Honors. He said, “2020 was definitely a crazy year, filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing, memorable moments, 180 straight days of having my nose hairs scraped, playing for very little fans or no fans the entire season, I got engaged, and I played some of the best football of my career.”
The Big Little Lies actor also talked about meeting Rodgers on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “He’s just a wonderful, incredible human being,” she said. “When we first met, also, I knew he was a football guy, but I didn’t know like what kind of a football guy he was. And I’m still constantly learning.”
E! News later had a mysterious source confirm Rodgers and Woodley’s relationship. “They had a very intense connection from the beginning,” the source said. “They both knew early on that it was something special and different from what they had experienced in other relationships.”
The insider then added, “It’s a quick engagement, but for those that know them, it didn’t come as a surprise.” The couple hasn’t talked a lot about their wedding plans.
The athlete obviously doesn’t talk about his personal life often. But Rodgers has now talked about his plans in the future when it comes to becoming a father.
Aaron Rodgers looks forward to becoming a father
The football player talked about what he’s looking forward to in the future. He revealed on Instagram Live on March 4 that he does plan to have kids.
“I’m in that age group where a lot of my close friends from high school and college are fathers now and have families of their own,” the 37-year-old athlete said. “It’s maybe not in the immediate future but definitely something that I really look forward to.”
The quarterback continued, “I’ve done a pretty good job at taking care of myself for the last 37 years and look forward to taking care of another life at some point too. I just think it’s going to be so fun.”
He called fatherhood his “next great challenge.” Rodgers added, “I’m really excited about that chapter whenever that comes.”
It’s unclear how many children he plans to have. But it sounds like Rodgers is excited about his future with Woodley.
